How about this lineup of electric vs internal combustion vehicles!
We got our hands on a Tesla Model X Plaid, which will take on the almighty Ferrari 296 GTS and a McLaren 750S! All three are impressive, but how do they compare? Let's take a closer look...
Starting with the Tesla, it's powered by three electric motors that combine to produce 1,020hp and 1,420Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels and it weighs a hefty 2,464kg. Brand new, the Tesla will set you back around £120,000.
Next to it, we have the McLaren. It's powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 750hp and 800Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs just 1,389kg! As new, the 750S costs around £250,000.
Finally, we have the 296 GTS. It is equipped with a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 mated to an electric motor, and these combine to generate 830hp and 740Nm. This is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the car weighs in at around 1,700kg. It is the most expensive car in this range, costing around £280,000.
