Ben, as someone who is stationed in OK and has seen those 72oz billboards, the curiosity got the best of me and I went and saw what the catch was. You have to eat the entire thing in a certain amount of time (including sides) and you get it free, otherwise it's like $100+. Love the channel my dude.

Did a 8,000 mile road trip in my model Y. Loved it! Had one issue with the charging network but that was more due to the weather and the road shutting down. But I arrived with 3%. Overall Tesla road trip videos just hit different. Plus at chilis, you’re family!

From what I've read, the legacy Ford EVs will be able to use the Tesla network sometime next year (2024 along with GM, Rivian, Mercedes and possibly others). 10 years from now chargers will be so ubiquitous around the U.S. that we'll laugh at range anxiety.

The BEST SuperCharger in TX IMO is Sulphur Springs. It has an ALL GLASS outdoor public bathroom, a splash pad, a great Mexican restaurant and a fabulous ice cream shop.

You can’t drop a deuce at the Hampton Supercharger in Gallup, because they’re renovating. Just finished a 4500 mile road trip CA to MN and back (MS LR 19” wheels); avoided I-40 totally! Pulled into Flagstaff with 4% SOC, found the Superchargers full with ten Teslas waiting. Overnighted at the Hilton Garden Inn, charging to 100% at one of their two Tesla destination chargers! Off the beaten path for me, which requires using the Chargeway app, along with the J-1772 adapter and a Chargepoint account … lots more fun and interesting, and focuses on the journey instead of the destination. Like the story of the old bull and the young bull…

I've noticed the Tesla nav can be a little conservative at times. It sometimes wants me to stop a hour short of where I can easily reach. For example, I live in Orlando, FL - on a recent road trip to Atlanta, the first stop selected was a V2 in Gainesville, FL (leaving the house at 100% charge). I knew a supercharger just opened in Jasper, so I forced the nav to route me there instead. At first, it said I wouldn't make it, but I arrived with 25% charge still remaining. That's with me doing around 80mph with the AC set to 72F. Jasper is about 190 miles from Orlando. If I wanted, I could have made it to the Valdosta, GA supercharger but my bladder doesn't have more than 200 miles of range. I have also started putting my charge limit up to 100% in case I get stuck in line (happened to me one time in Madison, FL waiting on an Arby's order - apparently severely understaffed).

The same thing happened to me on a recent road trip. It navigated me back to the Clayton, NM supercharger. There were some heavy winds, and I'm definitely glad I went back. Originally said I'd arrive with 5% charge before I had to go back. And even after charging another 10 minutes, I only arrived with 7%. (Granted, I missed a turn that caused me more battery, but still)

Very fun, funny, and useful. Trifecta perfection. I have a x-country trip coming up next month in my M3 SR+, CA to KY. Right along the same route you’re taking for the most part. 3 weeks. 1week drive there, 1 week visit, and a week to drive back - I’m retired and want to see the country. No Cannonball Run for me. (Any time I have raced to get from Point A to Point B I was always disappointed - no trophy, no roses, and no bikini clad model waiting to plant a big kiss on me for “winning” the race.) I’ve driven across the country several times in my life, but it’s always been go go go. Not this time. Can’t wait. And I appreciate the myriad travel tips for Tesla owners you gave. Thanks!

There is a new 16 stall supercharger location in Albuquerque. I-40 WB exit at Louisiana and head north a few lights in the ritzy Coronado outdoor shopping center area. Way more food and shopping choices than the one off of Menaul and Carlisle by the Applebee's. I presume it's a V3 as well.

Duuude, love your channel. Was following your route on Tesla trip planner. I'm confused. I've driven from one end of I 40 to the other several times. Best way to get across the country. HOWEVER, going from Albuquerque to Santa Rosa, NM does not go through Las Vegas, NM. Did Tesla trip planner need for you to go 120 miles out of your way to charge? Also, could you make a video going into depth about phantom braking? I'm seriously considering buying a Model Y when the version with new suspension and ventilated seats comes out in late '24 or '25.

I am surprised you don't use glass roof screen given you live in Arizona. I live in California and the roof screen makes a big difference on a hot day. AC works a lot less with the roof screen.
