I am picking up my 2024 Model Y tomorrow. Deals are too good out there on 2024 model for this cheap skate to wait for refreshed Juniper Model Y. Juniper will be expensive and in demand when released, so likely the current amazing incentives will not be included. Big trade offs going with the old model just so that I can save a buck. I do know that I will be envious of all of you driving the Juniper Model Y if it is anything like the Model 3 refresh.

I am waiting for the Juniper Performance version to come out. Using the Model 3 as a guide, we will see it a few months after the LR model releases. Hopefully Performance will have the larger battery, Plaid motor in the rear, and dialed in suspension.

2:38 I don't think new LFP will have 500 W/kg energy density 😉That battery you show is "condensed" or what battery which is very very high end and expensive (the battery is colored Gold probably because price is equivalent of Gold 😂) battery for Electric Airplanes... Latest CATL LFP batteries around is 205 W/kg which is still a huge improvement from current 120-160 W/kg...

If this larger pack is confirmed, the Osborne effect will be huge if there's no substantial price increase, John. I wonder if Tesla will offer the larger pack as an available upgrade, as on previous Model S vehicles.

It’ll just happen overnight no Osborne will happen since not many know about this partnership for the new pack except people like us. Pack retrofit is unlikely since it’s entirely new design

Battery density has increased and prices going down, there’s no reason for them not to. Also, they just put newer longer range batteries in the base Model 3 and Ys recently and prices stayed relatively the same too

Yup but could be a little different from what we previously saw. Recent leaks show it’s much thinner and no longer the ambient glow but instead a direct strip across the rear. Front end looks to stil be getting it

Range has never been an issue in any of my 3 Teslas, because I only use about one-third of my max range on a daily basis.

Yeah 90 percent of the time range is not an issue at all for any model any trim, but it’s only when on roadtrips that having that larger pack would be beneficial for faster charging speeds from 0-80 percent

They’ve been playing with extended length versions more often in China. See my other videos on the extended length model 3 and model Y, they’re a lot more comfy than what EU and NA has

It will most definitely come to China first with NA being the latest as CATL batteries will be facing tariffs/loss of incentives in US and Canada. So the Model Y here might have to wait for new regulations or the new 4680 from Giga Texas
