I'm impressed that FSD can drive 100% hand free on snow covered roads so I subscribed.

at 5:10, were you saying that your Tesla was spinning its tires, or the vehicle behind you? Did it seem like FSD was turning and braking slower than it does in clear conditions, or did it just do okay because the tires and "smoothness" of v13 could handle the conditions? Thanks for sharing! it's great to get the snapshots of how FSD works in different environments, and videos with dark, snowy roads like this aren't very common.

The vehicle that was across the road coming toward me was the one spinning it's tires trying to get traction through the intersection. It feels like FSD can sense the slippery conditions. Might be it sees the snow and slows down. It does drive smoother overall. I have had scenarios where the car will spin the tires at an intersection and screams at me to take control. I believe I have some footage of it doing that. Perhaps I'll post it. Very interesting scenario.

What tires are you using? All season? Snow? Brand?
@TeslaTechNow5 күн бұрын
Using Winter/Snow tires. Brand is RoadX Xfrost. Haven't used this brand before, but I'm happy with them. About half the price of other more popular brands. Thanks for the question. Let me know if you have any other questions!

@TeslaTechNow Thanks for the information. Have you driven on FSD while it is snowing?
@TeslaTechNow5 күн бұрын
@@Hendrik.A.LYes I have. I definitely have to pay closer attention. It's the snow the sticks to the windshield that turns to ice quickly and blocks the front cameras that cause problems. Also slippery conditions can cause issues. When accelerating from a stop sign or light and the tires spin the car will sometimes scream at me and tell me to take over. I can turn on FSD seconds later if I want. Last year I would not even entertain using FSD in the winter, but v13 is significantly better!

The voice has come a long way. Elon obviously has better costs than Microsoft. Lens flare at night, compounded by Christmas lighting can invoke error-trapping in the code which causes those short hesitations. Those resolution loops though seem to re-evaluate the imaging data pretty fast though which suggests to me that the chip sets are processing native assembly and not sitting on an underlying platform (which makes sense actually as it would be substantial more secure).

When it started to go and stopped, it saw the person in the road, crossing.. so it wanted to wait for the person to get out of the road.

That's interesting. I honestly didn't see that person crossing the road. Good catch!

I am driving in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Just north of border of North Dakota and Minnesota. Appreciate your feedback. I'll be sure to mention in my videos in the future!

That stop sign was bullshit... it was not even pointed toward the road. Looked like someone may have hit it?
@TeslaTechNow22 күн бұрын
Agreed! Not sure why that stop sign is there. Makes no sense.
