Make sure your sleep mode is turned ON so it wont take so long to boot up

Does anyone know if they have improved the boot up time in low temps? Curious to know before buying. Is it because the tablet itself is cold? Is there a mod that can fix this issue? Plan on traveling a lot and expect to be in cold weather conditions on occasion can't imagine waiting 15 min for it to be ready. Will the model with more ram and rom boot faster?

Damn. I can overlook things like not being able to customize buttons, but that ambient temperature lag I can’t/won’t deal with. I live in Florida so the fact that it lags when it’s hot would drive me crazy because it’s something I’d have to deal with daily.

Oh my bad did it sound like i said you Cant customize the buttons ? i meant you "can" and the lag doesn't really happen unless its like above 100 degrees i live in Texas and it barely happens but whats been happening a lot is the long startup due to the cold.

No you did say you can customize them, just not the buttons on the bottom for heated seats/etc. Which isn’t a big deal. Yea we get like 5 nights a year in Florida when it hits 40 degrees so that’s not a big deal. Thanks for clearing that up.

Are you getting full screen Android Auto? I see you got full screen with Carplay, but with my S24 Ultra, the Android Auto is not full screen, only half of the screen :(

Just get the unit itself you don’t need the dogle or any of that stuff if it’s the android 10.1 you’re good to go I just got the top model with the most ram.

15-30 min to turn on when cold. What a POS. I live with weather that is below 60 5 months out of the year. This would SUCK. Glad I saw your video. Thanks for saving me a major headache.

I think it was a mistake on his part, even the most POS e waste, garbage android tablet doesn't take 15min to switch on Im betting he meant 15-30 seconds. I think he made a mistake because i had used pos android devices and also he doesn't sound like the sharpest tool in the shed.

I haven’t but it’s more of a I don’t want my screen to get scratched type of reason haha. I’m sure you can remove it if you want !

Thanks for the review.. I have a 2010 Tundra that Im thinking of upgrading. I've seen Phoenix Automotive but I'm beginning to think that AutoTecPro is a better system. I just haven't seen much reviews on AutoTec's & my model year.

Yes, only that you wouldnt be able to do it on carplay since you have to use your phones hot spot to use the google store youtube app.

Do you have a video on how to set nobs for other things and how do you switch to fm radio from am station

i haven't really played around with the switching of button actions, only thing i did was switch the right nob to AC speed but that's it. I also don't really use the radio, I'm mostly always on Carplay.

Did you add the IPhone accessories, because when I hit car link it shows the android screen. I hit Apps to get to CarPlay.

Hmm i dont have that problem, both car-link and the apps button takes me to the same connection screen that connects to my iPhone for carplay. if you setup the screen with the usb connector that is for android-play and you're connected to it that might be why.

I just received my 12" vertical screen and dash bezel from Phoenix Automotive for my 2011 Silverado today. I got the one with 8gb RAM so if there is lag at any time I would be a disappointed. The issue with the screen being unresponsive for 30 min (if I understood you correctly) would be a deal breaker for me. I hope to install mine this weekend. I guess I will see how mine works. Thanks for the video though.

Nah, it's impossible to get lags with 8 GB RAM. I also have a different Android with 8 GB RAM + 128 GB. Works like shine

Well i have a 2017 tundra and my truck already had the voice command built in but this screen brought a mic that i could also connect. If i was you i would just look at the specs of the Tesla screen you're buying to make sure.

It’s just a wallpaper so you could probably make a custom one and download it into the system with a usb

You will most likely have to have your hot spot on which will disable carplay but the youtube app will work on the Tesla style radio

Have you had any issues with the heat and it affecting the screen ? Had another knock of brand die due to the heat

Ive had it for around 8 months and haven't had any heat problems with it. So far in this Texas weather i've only had problems with it in cold weather hahah

I wonder if you put some kind of insulation tape on the back like they use for duct work. And perhaps some type of other insulation there is plenty of space behind the unit

you need to download an app on the google play store called "Nova7" or if you do appleplay it will just automatically change it when youre connected

How did you remove the top icon bar dock?

It goes away on its own, until you touch the top. I mostly only use CarPlay.

Not really, you can also customize it (the Sound) on the units settings. Quality of sound stayed the same in my opinion. Just make sure you install the Unit properly!

Its the same on mines, only thing is that when you are reversing/ go into the rear camera move it lowers the volume.

Yeah it varies i guess but mostly around prob 55 and below is when it happens, but i guess that temperature in Texas has a lot more humidity than other states might have something to do with it. It's definitely minutes i have timed it a couple of times when it happens.

I live in Texas, north Texas to be specific. Below 60F is actually what electronics prefer so they run well, and lcd screens typically only get problems near freezing like in low 40s or 30s. Surely this was just a script mistake?
