I would shop around and see what carvana and vroom offer. Unfortunately, used prices are trending down. At today’s interest rates, I wouldn’t advise anyone to take on more or new debt with higher rates.

Did you have to have a title in hand? I only have a Paid in Full letter, would that suffice based on your experience?

I had the title in hand. I’m not sure if the letter will suffice. I would reach out to a sales associate.

Possible if you head to the dealership early. I had to wait a day or so for paperwork and scheduling pickup when using the website/app

May I ask the age of your Jetta and ballpark mileage? I recently contacted Tesla tradein and their offer on my 2017 model S is abysmal. They basically are insulting their own brand, kinda weird.

It was a 2023 with 10k miles. That is tough on low trade in, I hope you find something that works out better for you.

Yep they did the same with me. They low blowed me with a 26k offer meanwhile my truck (ford raptor) is worth 42k according to Kbb. Vroom got close @ 36k. Wanted to do a smooth transaction with tesla but it’s looking very slim. I’ll give them another shot by going in person and Demo’ing the model Y that I want and letting them know that I want to trade in the truck but if they offer me less then 35k I’ll come back another day with cash.

@Wakko0o I've since found out that my car's value was reduced because Tesla transfers the FSD value to the new car. This whole idea of trade-in and transfer is not any kind of deal. You end up paying for FSD twice, once up front and again with a reduction in trade-in value. I'm keeping my car, and it will be sold privately. Sorry Tesla, you had a chance to remove a car getting free supercharging, already paid FSD, and free premium connectivity.

If you already have an model y, why not buy a model 3?

No damage on the Jetta, like new. Well I did do a video where I scratched the windshield and buffed it out but they didn’t know that 🙃
