I was wondering about the flexible vs rigid options, but your comment "It's so much easier sticking the solid shaft down the hole" really sold me. Good comparison! Thanks

I have the 450 and use it every time I shoot/clean rfles and pistols. I'm very happy with the performance...

The first barrel checked with my Teslong NTG100H borescope was a brand-new AR complete upper, chambered in 300 AAC. I found when the gas port was drilled by the manufacturer, the bit hit the opposite side of the bore, leaving a small crater. The upper was immediately returned. Had it not been for the Teslong borescope, I never would have known. That one barrel inspection made it well worth the purchase. I now own two NTG100H's. One is covered with clear shrink tubing and used for bores greater than 22 caliber. I was a bit paranoid about stainless steel contacting the bore and muzzle crown. I may end up using a clear lacquer or urethane coating for the other. Let's face it, most of us use carbon fiber cleaning rods with brass ends and not steel cleaning rods. My preference for a display is either a laptop or large computer screen.

Nice comparison. I went with the 500 and it is a game changer. I say that because now I know how to clean or rather what I am fighting in the barrel. Good tip on using it in dies and other things.

I bought the 500 after I seen your review of a Teslong a couple months ago. Using it mainly to see when barrel is clean. I understand when the man said 'clean is clean'.

One thing to be mindful of when storing the Teslong cable is don’t wind it too tight once you take it out of the tube it comes in. the fibre optic cable should not be put back in the tube but stored in a seperate box so that the curve in the cable is about 4” diameter as it can fracture .Teslong has upgraded the cable from the old smooth plastic exterior to a new fibre exterior but I still wouldn’t bend the cable tight enough to fit it in the original tube. my first one broke and was replaced by Teslong.they warn you about it in the instructions now but not in the older instruction book.

I have both the long and short rods and the end piece kit. Best purchase ever, no guessing about anything inside the bore or chamber! At the time I couldn't figure out why anyone would want the monitor version as I've used mine with both my phone and a 7" pad, they work well. So even after this video I'm left wondering why I'd want yet another video device when like many people I can simply use my phone or pad. Mine are both Android devices. Another benefit is cost savings. As for having one dedicated... who doesn't have old unused phones lying about? Just leave it plugged into one of those and you are also recycling that old phone or pad giving it life for another purpose ;-) One really handy use is checking brass internally after cleaning (wet tumble in my case) as you can see the start of case head separation ring well before you ever see any indication on the case externally. This of course is after some number of reloads and really handy for catching it in batches where only some of the cases get it. No more tossing a whole batch just because some started showing signs. I'm talking maybe

I’ve got a flexible and a 450. The 450 definitely works better. Also Teslong customer service is great. My rigid scope stopped working and they just sent me a new one at no charge after I provided a screenshot of my Amazon order.

Erik had a short video where he talked to the Teslong people at shot show... I've been waiting until that gets released before I buy a bore scope. Hopefully it's not going to be a really long time...

Have you used the wifi ones much ? My thought is that the OLED screen on my phone is probably better than thier screens. Could save alot of money if the wifi units work well. But if they are not very intuitive or just a cumbersome things to handle maybe the screened unit really is best for usability. What are your thoughts? Thank you for making videos for us people who can't get hands on experience with one before purchasing.

I never figured out how to zoom with the NTG500. It doesn`t say in the manual either. With the .22 mirror the picture is quite small.

Why is the device image blue? Also, one could use this on pistols and shotguns too, right?

Hi John, do you know what the model number of the flexi cable is to fit the 450? I like you have the rigid for home but want to use the screen with a flexi cable when away at matches, I struggled a bit on the Tesslong website to see what was compatible.

For those who have asked about the blue screen yes, there is a blue tint. But it appears much worse in these KZbin videos than what it is in reality. Bought mine on Amazon for a really good price and worth every penny. I have the 5 inch model.

Do you know if the 500 has manual exposure control? The 450 doesn't and makes it worthless to look at gas port alignment because autoexposure kicks in at all brightness levels. I was able to plug it into a PC and found some software that allowed manual exposure control so the camera is capable of it. I emailed support to see if they'd ever update the viewer to support manual exposure control and they said they wouldn't (probably because it's OEM'd?).

So is the screen look more like the sd card and not blue like on the right? I assume it’s just you trying to take a video of a video screen and that’s why it’s blueish and not clear

The good thing about a borescope is that it allows you to see what is going on in your barrel. The bad thing about a borescope is that it allows you to see what is going on in your barrel. 😉

i own a NTG500H for nearly 18 months now - but compared to this one it looks like a older model the connection looks different at mine (white rubberized cord (not braided) with adjustable light switch and usb connector - then and a short adapter cable female usb to the long usb-c) my set included a 4 mirror set (.22, .30, .35, .50) i would like to get the "perfect" mirror size for my rifles - 6.5 creed with .22 (5mm mirror) is not a great fit picture quality is very good - especially for the price tag

Sounds like they also upgraded the mirror set as well because the new one amzn.to/3Gh7KZg that comes with the NTG500H is a 5 piece set and has a .243 mirror. They have amazing customer service and I bet they'll send it to you. support@teslong.com

What I hate about their system is how short is that the cord , everytime I need to pull out borescope out of my 26" barrel screen picks up and slides all over ! Just dumb! Reminds me of apple products charging cable 8"!!!
