My Mom use to make these! And we were not Jewish. We were in a neighborhood that was half Jewish and half Catholic. So I think she learned from her Jewish friends.

I love this so much! Kind of a rough description of Purim (if I'm being completely and totally honest), but I loved it all. I am so ready to bake hamantaschen this year-I used to make them with my mom when I was little, and I haven't done it for a while, but I'm getting really excited for it 😊

Apricot hamantaschen is one of my all time favorite cookies... other jelly cookies are good if you use apricot but the buttery hamantaschen just makes a better cookie.

Funny girl! Just FYI, Hamentachen is Haman's ears actually, not hat. I'm Israeli, in Hebrew we call it "Ozney Haman", "ozney" means ears. So when you said canibalism, yes, exactly! Lol. My favorite Hamentachen are so easy to make, not so much work and filled with chocolate spread or Nutella. Yummmm. Also, good tip is to refrigerate the prepared cookies before baking for about 15-20 minutes, it'll help keep their shape. And don't overfill them.

Hummentashin are haman’s ears not hat! At least that’s what I learned in Hebrew school. In Hebrew the word for these cookies is “oznei haman” which literally means “haman’s ears.” Wikipedia confirms!
