Tess: I don't conform to beauty standards. Also Tess: gets injections so her skin looks better and puts makeup on to hide imperfections, make her eyes bigger, and generally make her face more neotenous, which is typically considered attractive in female faces🙃

The issue i have is she MAKING herself more neotenous and most people who actually have those features, HATE them usually. I love that i can still wear pigtails and not look stupid, but i worry anyone who compliments me when i have them in, only thinks its cute because it kimda highlights those features in my face. And if thats why they think its attractive its a little creepy to me, are you attracted to children? Or am i attractive and HAPPEN to have childlike features?? Its a bit offputting for those with naturally younger looking features when people go out and get them to be more attractive. At peast to me and my friends with the same features at least

I’m an ER nurse, and the fat positivity movement concerns me for a lot of reasons. You pretty much said it all in the video, but if I can make one addition, I’d say that I don’t think members of the movement realize that being morbidly obese compromises your ability to care for yourself. I can’t count how many times I’ve cared for a patient in their 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s (who should be completely capable of walking into an ER room and laying on a bed) need to be wheeled in, and lifted onto a stretcher by two or three nurses. As a caretaker, you still care about them and want the best for them, but it’s frustrating when you’re injuring your back taking care of someone who doesn’t make much effort to care for themselves.

But Still Purposely letting urself overeat after being educated, not being realistic and coming to terms w ur addiction then claim u healthy & beautiful is a no honey. Being that size means u overeat, and over eating isn't healthy, don't try to make it sexy, cus people wouldn't like if someone was making drugs sexy.

I'm gonna throw something controversial out there: she reminds me of Amberlynn Reid. They are both morbidly obese and when anyone criticizes them, they can't accept that it is because of their personalities and not their weight. Are there people who pick on them just because of their size? Yes. But plenty of people are just turned off by their personalities. Also, in regards to the not working out, "you don't owe anything to anyone!" how about yourself? You owe it to yourself to be healthy.

I would argue she owes being healthy and fit to her kids. I grew up in a household where both my parents took poor care of themselves and now I'm trying to undo some of the things I was taught as a kid. It's disheartening and scary to constantly worry about my mom getting diabetes or my dad having a heart attack because they've refused to take care of their health properly.
@namemes5594
@namemes5594 4 жыл бұрын
@@TehNinjaFlute if someone chooses to be unhealthy, it's their choice, and it's fine. But I don't think you should have kids if you aren't ready to commit to teaching them to be healthy. It is really sad that a lot of fat people became fat because of their parents. I personally think that it is a form of child abuse.

She came from poverty and has built a lucrative career for herself based on being not just plus size but morbidly obese. To make that fly she obviously has to say she’s happy being fat and use it as a soapbox so then she’s a ‘fat acceptance’ activist. She gets blood tests to show she’s ‘healthy’ hence HAES. She works out and eats ‘healthy’ food which shows she lives a ‘healthy’ lifestyle. So she’s too far in now to say or do or be any different. It’s about the $$$ now. The reality of course is that ‘health’ isn’t measured by some static bunch of blood tests and you don’t stay obese by under-eating as no amount of ‘working out’ changes that. The movement should be Respect at Every Size because moral worth isn’t measured by what you weigh.

I was taking the piss out of the way the Woke Folk tread on eggshells in order to please the most people and offend the fewest possible people, and then end up with unclever terms like 'melanated voices'. The way she put it, others will think she doesn't know the definition of melanin or is too wannabe quirky to care. I like clever terms when they make sense. Hers didn't.

I gained a lot of weight this year because I moved a lot less but ate the same amounts, and I didn't understand because I thought I really didn't eat that much. I started counting calories 5 weeks ago and that's when I realized just HOW many calories are in snacks and that the majority of the calories I was taking in did not come from my main meals but from the ridiculous amounts of snacks I was eating. I've lost 2 kg since I started counting 🥳

Some people aren’t meant to be skinny, yes. I am an example of that. Though, I have a healthy BMI for my height and age, and I eat the right amount, I am still not as skinny as some girls my age because of my body structure. But there’s a certain point where it goes from out of your hands to...being in your hands, you know?

@Orlokk Noxx Actually, the condition doesn't even have to be rare. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition that can cause those who have it to gain weight that is near impossible to lose and is quite common among those with ovaries that are of reproductive age. Similarly, pregnancy can cause drastic weight shifts that take time to recover from following childbirth. That is not to say that people who struggle with these conditions shouldn't still be held responsible for doing what they can to maintain their health, but it's not as uncommon as you might think.

You could go on a walk or just sit down and watch nature, just as long as you get out of the home for a bit 2. Do something different from your every day, for example if you watch KZbin all day go play a game or read, maybe draw, paint, learn to embroider or something. Just limit how much time you spend watching KZbin 3. Take a bath or shower, you can even make it pretty if that's your thing 4. Do some laundry/change your clothes, it can help you feel cleaner and fresher thus giving a small boost to your brain

I'm brand new to this channel, having just found it today. I'm a 63 yr old woman who weighed 333lbs 5 yrs ago. I also am a Type 2 diabetic, and neither my weight nor my diabetes were caused by overeating. In my case, it was sugary drinks which ruined my health in so many ways. I had it fixed in my brain that watery drinks (vs. creamy drinks) could not put weight on me! Until I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, it took me awhile to understand what caused it. I've never had a big appetite, but am always thirsty, especially when I smoked. I now weigh 125 lbs and wear a size 6. I have had the weight off for nearly 3 years now. My A1c is down to a 5.5 - 5.7, so I no longer need any medications for my diabetes at all. I have 2 autoimmune disorders, both of which cause me chronic pain, but my pain levels have dropped by around 75% since losing the weight. I now feel more like I'm in my 30s than my 60s. PS, I absolutely had to see who named their channel My Thoughts Will Probably Offend You! I wasn't disappointed. Thanks!

I just found your channel and I love it. I have lost 175 lbs. I went from 300 to 125. I decided that I was unhappy with my morbid obesity and wanted to get healthy. I can't believe how much better I feel and the joint pain I no longer have. Anyways I love your content.

"Health isn't a mandate"? Is she admitting she isn't healthy? Why even make that statement if she believes her HAES message?

Hi Michelle. My comment will probably not get noticed but I just wanted to say being apart of your channel has honestly inspired me to take better care of myself. So far I'm down twenty pounds and have stopped drinking overly sugary drinks all together. I also walk a lot more than I used to. Thanks for being an inspiration to me. :)

The HAES community makes their fatness a personality trait. That's their problem and it is body dysphoria. That's why they get all butthurt when fat celebrities get healthy and shed the weight. We've seen it with JHud, Adele, and now Lizzo lol. Stop tying your current weight to your personality.

It’s like they have nothing else interesting about them and once someone tries to lose weight, they see it as “they’re getting rid of a big part of my personality because they think it’s bad!’ When in reality they’re gonna be wishing they did the same in 10 years or less

As someone who is fat, she embarrasses me so much. I’m working towards learning to be healthy and develop a good workout plan and diet. It’s weird she wouldn’t want that for herself to be healthy and happy especially when she has kids. It would be embarrassing not being able to play with your kids because you love food and ✨ body positivity ✨ more.

Tess actually says "I don't even eat McDonalds", meanwhile the text says "I don't even LIKE McDonalds". Then at 11:50 she is challenged on "health" and Tess' response... is about BEAUTY. Nothing but a bait & switch. Pay no heed to the inconsistency behind the curtain...

I think I’m a way Tess knows if she loses weight then she’ll lose everything. It’s a sad cycle to be in but you’re so right, tic tok diet culture is toxic and so is this.

"I'm fat because I don't want to fit into society's beauty standards." Who's gonna tell her (and many others) that being slim/exercising to lose weight doesn't automatically mean you're tryna fit into society's beauty standards? 😂
