I think that's exactly what makes these guys unique, and my favorite part about them is how they layer the clean guitar over the heavy. The contrasting atmospheres work really well together.

For those noticing similar groove patterns from other songs we've heard, keep in mind that this is essentially a 51 minute long song. Concept albums most usually take from other songs within the album and puts a little twist in them. It's one long ass song. Love it! Maybe not as long as BTBAM's Colors, (Also essentially one song), but still.

I would say Ashe's a decent replacement for Dan, personally. Although that may be because I wasn't too keen on Elliot's vocals (no disrespect to any of the band if they come across this comment), and Ashe just sounds better than his predecessor. Consider this: Dan's busy with his own projects; he sadly doesn't have enough time for TesseracT.

I don't know how you can recognize a drum sound blended with SD samples. They happened to blend the snare and the kick on some songs of One, but i'm not even sure they did it on this one. Anyway, SD or not, it's just the popular way to mix drums in modern metal you actually hate, if you ask me... I personally hate the "80s/90s heavy metal" production. Matter of taste.
