I also had a White 68 Impala with the 307, that 307 in my opinion was a junk motor, and mine was no exception to that opinion. I loved the car so I put a 327 in it from a wrecked 69 Corvette. OMG What a difference. I also replaced the Power Glide transmission with a 3 speed Turbo Hydramadiic. The difference in that car was great. It by no means was a race car and thats not what I was looking for. It just was a beautiful riding car with a nice performance upgrade

It was a weak motor, but nowadays you can drop a cam & F.I. set up in anything & make it perform.

@@jackolson8775 Not only that it was weak, the motor had alot of issues when it got some miles on it. If you noticed Chevrolet only offered that motor for a couple of years. They should of just stuck with the 283

Love this Impala except for the wheels. I would put the old Chevy Rally Wheels on it but then again I’m an old fart! 1960 model!😂

My Grandpa always had former police and government surplus vehicles... One day in 1970 he comes by my house in a '68 Chevy full size unmarked cruiser. 427, 4 on the tree, big spotlight. It was comfy, and really great sound of that 427 in first gear!

now that is different, it has a 2004R O/D transmission, one of my favorites to build. one unique thing about them is they all had a multi case bolt pattern, you can bolt them behind any V8 GM engine, pont. buick, olds, or chevy,, i have built many of them for hot rods. i even have one myself,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Clean old ride friend had one same year in primer had a new 327 but it was the same body style as that one but it was white originally had new sheet metal floors everything was replaced he sold it couple years ago just had to be finished assembling.

Fantastic ride, needs some finishing with some minor stuff but that is worth every penny and every hour spent. Great car.

We had two of those in my family - my mom’s Caprice with a 307 200 hp and power glide tranny and my Impala with a 327 225 hp and power glide tranny. Mom’s was a total dog - it did 70 mph in the quarter mile we had marked off in my neighborhood. Mine was a little better, it did 80 in the quarter. Those cars were super comfortable and at their best when parked at the drive in if you know what I mean.

Cool car...Nick, maybe decidedly try and always keep the sun at your back when you're shooting stills or video...pointing the camera at the sun may not damage the sensor ( digital) but it's not going to give you the same result on the playback as using the sun properly in any shot...thanks for the videos
