Just recently came across your channel, love your vids. I've spent many hours watching old test drive videos. I'd like to find a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Rallye 350. My dad bought one in high school in 1972, he had to sell it in 1978 when I was born. He sold it for $900.

First the car is super nice. I had a 68 levons paid $350 for it baby blue. But that's kind of high on the price right now. Due to the blower is hard to get you want to you need to blur or the windows get fogged up. Need to know how fast you're going cuz you don't want to go faster than the highway patrol man. You also need the wipers it rains 4 months out of the year so you need to get a new motor for that also you need a new gas tank because if the floater is stuck in the bottom you have to replace the whole thing. But good thing you're playing these things out

$27,900 is a little pricey for a car that has that many issues. Gas gauge not working, no wipers, radio missing, ac missing and blower motor not working just to name a few.

Not a real GTO. It's a clone. A real GTO would have had a tach and full gauges, also the automatics had the "slap stick" shift. It doesn't have a posi either. It has a 10 bolt open diff. That car is a CLONE. Someone put GTO badges on a LeMans. Can tell real fast if you posted the VIN.
@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate2 жыл бұрын
Vin is posted on our website @ Maplemotors.com , this is a real GTO we would not try to pass anything off like that here. Thanks

@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate So it is... my apologies. Has to be the most stripped down GTO I've ever seen. Definitely a good builder though, the bones are there.
@richardmorris70632 жыл бұрын
I think the tach was an option back then, not everyone w/ an automatic wanted to spend the money. I'm sure w/ the manual it came on the car. I heard this discussed on Lou Constable vlog.

A lot of those things were extras back then. Bucket seats were extra, gauge package extra. If you got the base 400 engine it was extra for a dual snorkel air cleaner. Almost everything was extra, that's why the cars with all the right boxes checked when ordering bring the big money.
