Based off the Calais, a 307 coughs up 180 ponies thanx to a hotter cam, stiff valve springs, specific distributer, 4bbl Rochester & dual snorkel air cleaner. Power flows thru the thm200 4-spd O/D to a 3.73 axle, optional posi. F41 suspension, fast ratio steering give decent road manners. Gauge package & sport steering wheel tidy up the interior. A nice all- around package that works even in today's world for nice cruising. And you can wrench this classic yourself should the mood strike you, and parts won't cost you an arm & a leg. Great Find! Just rip off that horrid 70's plastic steering wheel cover!

These cars had carburetors! These cars were made for cruising and mushy suspension! I like these cars fyi...Carburetors start as good as fuel injection, unless they are clapped out! I start my cars one pump of the gas and they light right up..even sitting for 3 weeks at a time! Most 1960's early 70's cars stopped from 60 anywhere from 105-130 feet(mainly front disk cars upper 130 feet for 4 wheel power drum)..Most people dont know how to adjust drum brakes and drove clapped out cars,so they complain...it isn't bad,its inline with many more modern average rides(not performance cars)...But no a.b.s meaning you have to control it otherwise you could turn or skid if you just slammed on the brakes..But they stop great, you just have to adjust your driving, once you're used to them they stop on a dime, plus you can down shift for more stopping power! I have a magazine road test with a Charger stopping from 60 mph in 119 feet! Remember old tests are different than today..Majority of magazine tests had 200 lb of test equipment in the trunk and 2 people in the car! They either burned rubber off the line(zero traction) or eased into it at 40 mph to ensure traction..All 0-60 ..1/4 mile times are much slower than what you can actually do in older 70's and 60's cars..plus wet side streets for testing etc. I drive a 69 Charger RT 4 wheel drum brakes and it stops fine(I also have a 68 that runs 10.03 in the 1/4 but disk brakes out front)..Suspension is better than 80's car because 80's cars are mushy...My Charger is smooth but firmer..it handles great, better than you think..Mopars you can adjust the front suspension..Torsion bars you can adjust it in 2 minutes each side! Lower it a bit, give it a little rake in the back if wanted or just lower it enough that the front is lowered so it sticks to canyon curves..then you can raise the front up that gives more traction for the rear for drag racing! Again,I drove most of these when they were 16 year old cars and a little older but my Dad bought them new,so I was always picky and I knew what was close to new and not worn out 250,000 mile abused clunker..I also restore cars and I am picky and my cars ride, perform, handle better than any 80's car! This Olds was made for cruising and not handling! I am in the car business and restore cars..I grew up with a picky Dad,Uncles and their friends..They had Mopars,Ford&GM...My Dad is 84 and still owns his 70 Cuda 440 6bbl he bought new..I rarely drove another one that drove as good as his..He raced his,260,000 miles but still drives better than most of the ones I bought even in 1989! Back with my dead stock 383 magnum 69 Super Bee back in 1990 I out ran a 88 5.0 Mustang around canyon roads here and beat him in drag races! We both had 4.10's,headers I had a big holley double pumper he had what ever the computer upgrade was then..My bee was solid from a 54 year old female teacher lol..Engine stock besides what i did..

@@01trsmar I agree with you on the carborater I don't know why automakers got away from them if you did have problems with them you could at least rebuild them with fuel injection if you have a serious problem it's going to cost you a lot more to fix the problem. My grandfather had a 1975 Chevrolet C10 short wheel base truck it had a 350 four barrel quadrajet turbo 350 transmission. He used it every day for work he always keep the manetinice up on it and never had any issues with the truck the motor has never been rebuild it still has the factory water pump on it and it has over three hundred thousand miles on it and he drove the shit out of old blue he bought the truck brand new buy the way he passed away back in 2007 unfortunately i had to get rid of old blue because it did have some rust issues and I never would have had the money to have it restored the man that bought it plans on restoring it back to new.
