You described mixture backwards. Mixture controls the amount of fuel going in to the engine.

he also described what the elevators do incorrectly. Yes, there is a little deflection from the wind hitting it, but it's basically negligible. The main force that moves it up or down is lift. The elevator is basically an upside down wing. When you pull back on the yoke, the elevator moves up which extends the chord line which equals more lift, and since it's an upside down wing, that lift is directed downwards, so the tail moves down. The opposite it true for when you push the yoke forward.

@@MrMR-sk8jm no he described it correctly, lets think about flaps, when you drop flaps it generates lift, they are pointing down. the horizontal stabilizer is shaped like the wing. going back to the flaps, how my instructor taught me is, on final when you have the flaps dumped, and are on final, pitch becomes what controls speed, and throttle controls altitude. so you increase throttle, push the nose down, the aircraft will actually go up, as the flaps act like the elevator, they are pointed down so when you apply more thrust or airflow, it hits them and the air is pushed down which is why it goes up (every action has an equal and opposite reaction. the reason pushing down on the elevator makes the plane go down is because its on the end of the tail, so the tail goes up just like flaps, but unlike flaps, they arent near the CG so it actually pushes the nose down. i know you werent asking for a lecture but i just wanna make sure everyone knows what they are talking about prior to making a statement such as the one you made.

I believe the way tail wheel steering works is: The rudder pedals are connected directly to the rudder that has a spring on each side that connects to the rear wheel. When you push on one rudder, the tail deflects but nothing happens to the rear wheel until you move forward (or are moving forward already). Then the spring pulls the rear wheel to one side until the tension is relieved. No, it does not work like, "the wind hits the tail and pushes it around."

Mixture does not draw in more air as you claim. It's a simple matter of reducing the fuel flow to match the density of the air and keep the ratio between the two.

Everything that I've ever bought that was Saitek ended up breaking well before it's time was up...the only thing that's lasted relatively well would be my Saitek combat flight pedals. They look nice but end up just showing their true colors after the buttons and innards start to act up due to the cheap components they use. Don't even get me started on their keyboards...

It's demand. Alot of gamers getting into space sims these days. Particularly Elite Dangerous. Flight sim controllers have always been a niche market....so I'm guessing the overload is catching them by surprise. I'm in the same situation trying to get new rudder pedals for DCS World. Can't find the type of pedal I want anywhere. Everywhere is back ordered. Even high end sellers like MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals are back ordered.

+Dereck Dunn if you go to "the pilot store" you can buy items at original (non-inflated" cost. But they are back ordered as well. Buying puts you on the list to have it shipped to you when it comes in. The site says anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.

Sir, I have issues with my Multipanel, namely the trim wheel does not work on any aircraft use (A2A, Flight 1 general FSX default etc). I use SPAD and tired FSUIIPC to no avail. The rest of the panel works including flaps (I only fly C172 and B200 so don't need auto throttle yet). Have you had issues with this > keep up the great work kind regards Harold Whitby New Zealand

I wish Saitek would have spent 1/4 the time and resources it took to develop 3 different pedals to do the same thing, and made an approachable cyclic/collective set.with a twist throttle. Basically an x45/x52/x55/x56 with some 3d printed parts to extend the joystick and make a collective handle. They could charge 300-400US for $20 worth of parts. I don't think there is anything available at that price point, they would corner the market with anyone who wants to start flying helicopters or even the V-22 Osprey.

currently I have a cessna yoke, but I really dislike the elevator control since the spring makes it really hard to control the aircraft since it "sticks" on particular spots. I know there's a rubber band fix for this but curious if I "downgrade" to the regular saitek pro flight yoke (not cessna version), is that also the same problem with the elevators? I know that one is limited to 45 degree turn whereas the cessna yoke has 90 degree turn.

Michael Kung I had the same issue, in the end I gave up and bought a CH Eclipse yoke - FAR more natural and no sticking or centering issues.

+Steve Walton If only they didn't make the CH yokes so ugly. Main reason why I like the Cessna yoke is because it looks good compared to most mid-level Flightsim yokes. I know that function is more important for most people. It is for me as well, but I just can't stand how the CH Yokes look.

when you are moving the tail rudder, only move it a few degrees left or right, unless of course you want to rip your tail off. this has happened in the past people.

I edited also the exe.xml file and nothing, but if I open the Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel (Software) this said Saitek Switch Panel is working. About the rudder pedals: After using them for three years i can say that they are not worth the money. The awful design in the plastic against plastic sliding mechanism absolutely sucks dirt in and just a bit of dirt and they go grindy and rough, making precise movement impossible. These pedals are only good for a few months of use before they become grindy, sticky and loose. And the brakepedals themselfes also goes loose and you cant tighten them enough to fix them. You are better of buying those Thrustmaster cheapish pedals. Calling the Saitek Cessna Pro Flight Yoke a high end yoke..... Oh, and apologise if i heard wrong, but its called F/A-18, not F-18. Sorry for my rant, you are a fine chap, but those products..... Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
