This is my favorite car by far! It looks, sounds, and just is beautiful. It's a shame Chrysler replaced it with the boxy thugmobile 300; they should've continued making the M. Kyle, you are a lucky man to have driven one of these in high school. You should let me borrow it for my senior prom, as high school girls will be all over the stud who drives a 300M. Great vid!

@fthrcast13 жыл бұрын
I have to say without a doubt that my purchase of the 300m Special is the best used car I have ever bought or seen to date , no bias. Right onto the highway , I was getting 90mph having only pressed the gas in about an inch. Never needed any throaty acceleration to reach that speed and didn't want to test the car , prior to working on it myself , just get it home. The Special Edition gets 34mpg highway , more than a base 300m (single exhaust). No restriction of the exhaust , but calibrated.

my dad gave me this car and i love it, being 17 and getting a car like that is just amazing, he had gotten the new 300c so i got this one the only problem i have is its so low or a ride i find myself scraping the bottom on nearly everything even steep drive-ways, if only it had like another 2-3 inches of lift it would be perfect, but im not complaining.

such a gorgeous car. i almost bought a 300M, but i didn't because it was 180,000 miles old and had some power window problems. drove like a dream. great power. i did read of chrysler's engine problems with the sebring and stuff, so i ended up buying a honda. no regrets :)

The 300m Special Edition's do have dual exhaust , as I just bought a 2002 300m Special Edition / Berline , midnight blue in color. 2 catalytic converters mount right beside the engine where they won't rust from being actually under the firewall or a bit further back. Each exhaust pipe goes into a dual piped resonator via a Ypipe. Then another Ypipe is connected to the exit of the resonator , which leads to yet another chrome hotbox behind where the rear axle would be. Then out thru 2 pipes.

Iam looking at buying a 300m to add to the "harem'haha it is hard to find one that is not driven to death thanks for the vid cheers
@fthrcast13 жыл бұрын
Oh , and the dual exhaust system also has 2 mufflers as well , 1 on each corner prior to the chrome tips , which are wirefed welded completely onto the tailpipe ends , not screwed or clamped. It is quite a large exhaust system , but the most expensive parts (the catalytic converters) are protected and will last. Mine are still looking like they might only be a year old , even though they are original. In fact , the entire exhaust system is original. Not a fix or repair often exhaust system.

There's plenty of us that have an affinity for Chrysler/Mopar vehicles that came from the "Chrysler Sucks" camp. The truth is Chrysler Co. built some of the best looking cars of the 1990s. Right before the "Merger of Equals" between Chrysler & Daimler Benz, Chrysler was awash in cash; the only US Automaker that was increasing it's market share in 1998- the only US Automaker not losing money at that point. Robert Eaton was a greedy man, that handed a company with a bright future over to the Germans. We all saw how they picked thru the bones for whatever value they could extract. Daimler is in the position they are today ONLY due to the money they essentially stole from Chrysler. Chrysler's products during this time were awful- and we have the Germans to thank for it. What remains of the Chrysler Corp. today under FCA is a mere shadow of it's former self, however this could be leading to an amazing third comeback. FCA has been very tight lipped on future product for Chrysler & Dodge, but I assure you an entire new generation of vehicles are preparing to launch under these marques- taking advantage of all the new platform tech developed for Jeep, Alfa, RAM, etc. The changes made to existing product at Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM under FCA has been nothing short of a miracle. Totally new product will be best in class- you can bet on it. With as bad a reputation that they earned as Daimler Chrysler, FCA is aware that there is no room for sub-par product. They have to be class-leading, or nothing at all. I've purchased more than a few new FCA era Dodge & Jeeps- with a new RAM 1500 coming this spring. If you haven't had any experience with their newer products, you've really got no frame of reference to base an opinion- except for on outdated information. Ive driven Toyotas mostly for my new vehicles prior to my new FCA vehicles. I don't feel I've downgraded based on my experience.

Loaded Leather All options work Moonroof Heated seats New timing belt New brakes New water pump Runs and drives good Rebuilt title 2,800 obo No trades Cask only What do you think?

Actually what they have done with the exhaust , is incorporate 2 catalytic converters into what a header design is. In that - each catalytic converter has bolt on connecting flanges like a header , on their ends. This can make the catalytic converters last the life of the car , just like manifolds. You simply bolt on everything from the catalytic flange ends , just like you would onto headers. Even the flange ends remain inside the unibody frames , so only the rest is exposed to underbody.
@aliengoth7 күн бұрын
One thing I was surprised at is that the catalytic converters are attached via aircraft fittings that I used to see on jets that I worked on in the Air Force.

I've owned a '99 (cinnamon glaze) and a 2004 Platinum Edition 300M, and I realize every time I think of buying something new that I'm spoiled because I can't go down to a 4 cylinder or even most V6 cars because they just don't handle like the 300M does, plus it's luxury amenities makes it a great car for the buck. It's unfortunate that they have some common problems, e.g. the transmission, but once that's rebuilt at well over 120k miles, then you're good.

@Iwasbored76 Hey man, type in MotorWeek Chrysler 300M Special. They tested it & put it on a youtube video. It did 0-60 in 7.2 and ran the 1/4 mile in 15.5 @ 91 mph. The regular '99 300M was tested in motor trend and got to 60 in 7.7 and ran the 1/4 mile in 15.9 @ 89.8 during that test. Neither are super fast cars, but for what they are they move pretty well. A 4400 pound 160 HP '95 Explorer V6 did 0-60 in the 9's just so you know lol. You're right about the tranny though. I totally agree

Nice, I have a 2000 300m. Love these cars, The 3.5 engines are great but a bitch to work on some things. They were ahead of there time. My 300m has 189,000 miles and still very nice and running strong. I will be putting new struts all the way around soon. Most of the front end is new. They are super nice to drive, You just have to keep them up and they will last for over 250,000 miles. I would put another engine in mind if needed. DONT BUY CHEAP PARTS!!!!! Buy good quality parts and this thing will last a very long time. And DONT GO CHEAP on front end parts at all!!!! I know its hard to find good parts cause everything is made in china or Mexico, ITS SUCKS!!!!! I would pay for good quality parts made in AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have you ever driven both cars to compare or is this just youre opinion? granted the car is fwd and a v6. since theres virtually no torque steer i can live with that and its a 3.5l high output v6. nothing wrong with that. i like the c from a power standpoint , but its interior is rubbish compared to the 300m and plenty of people will second that. like it or not the m handles better, turns better, looks better,and its lighter. some people like my self prefer those characteristics.
