OCD Guy here. "I don't know what it's supposed to look like." Hahahahaha. Hey, I was dancing around with joy watching you straighten out those fenders on the English wheel. Looking at those sad bits every week was driving me bonkers. I feel so much better now.

I enjoy watching someone doing a correct job on an old car and bringing her back to life. I have seen some guys on KZbin just butcher the crap out of a car when chopping the roof and working on the fenders. Great job bro.

I like the headlights back at the further back location. But then I also always liked the look of headlights mounted on a tube between the fender and the grill which also pushed them back a little.

Ill be honest with you Brent . I really thought "Hes got his work cut out on this one" thinking it was not much more than yard art when you started. It had the furthest to travel. But as always you are really pulling it out of the bag, I enjoy watching you work . Especially your winter projects . Thank goodness you have long winters

As for the grill/hood issue, I'd add to both the hood and the grillshell. Have the hood meet at the original peak of the grillshell and angle it back to clear around the headlights, with small wings added to the grillshell for headlight mounts. Rest of the build is spot on and looking great!!!
@craigsowers8456 Жыл бұрын
Had a 1961 MGA back in my Uni days ... the Brits used "Fender Welting" to deal with the stress cracking issue ... also made it nice for painting the Fenders separately (hung) and future access advantages for repairs (like the clutch slave cylinder that was always going out). Great job in this session ... exciting stuff. And glad to hear your intent to put rubber strips on AL to Steel contact points !!!. BTW ... still LOVE the military wheels on the PU Truck ...

@stevewalden3814 Жыл бұрын
The back end looks SOOO much better now. Regarding the front end, you need decide which is the point of interest - the grill or the headlights. If it was me, I would emphasize the grill, and put the headlights down and back to get out of the way. [It's not fast, it's not slow, it's half-fast!]

The more I look at your fantastic creation the more I like it without the front headlights. I've seen hot rods where they hide the lights in the front fenders . With your skills I'm sure you could invent some sort of headlight cover. Ha I'm letting my imagination run away with me. Whatever you decide will look great

"slowly getting there" Hahaha! You've done more in a few months than most people do in a few years lol. Myself included! This is coming along great. I'm sure the rear bumper is going to look cool, but I love the look without it. On a side note, if you ever want to get rid of the Pontiac, I might know a guy lol.
@allanimalstaxi Жыл бұрын
That camera angle was playing tricks with me, made it look a little curled in on the right side. But after welding the metal sheet in, made it look a lot better. Hope you did well at the car show or where ever you were going. But on the other hand, this build is moving right along. Pablo doesn't look as happy as when he was riding in the front seat. Take care my friend

IMO, the placement of the headlights set back the furthest you had them looks the best. Hides the rad shell extension the best. Like the look with the headlights set back like that. The fenders and the rear valance look fantastic. Amazing what you can do with some old fenders, tubing and flat steel. Look forward to more. Have fun at World of Wheels. Be safe and stay well.

Goulash is looking gorgeous! I have to say that my heart leaps out of my chest every time I see you cut something off/up or grind on its patina, BUT this one may be your best creation yet (though Grizzly & General will always be special). --- But one is compelled to ask: how in the world does one person manage to amass the custom made fleet that you have!? wow

What a CLASSIC line ,---- I don't know what it is supposed to look like, so I guess this is fine !------ All I can say is good luck finding a store bought patch panel for it !! HA ! . Hey Brent, you're getting pretty good with that English wheel !.
