Nice video. Heard my name lol. So can we also say the cooler temperatures that more than likely changed the DA by several 1000s of feet also made a difference? For example, if the barometric pressure was at 30.00” and the temp was 90 like before your DA would have been nearly 9000’. If the pressure was the same at 30.00” on this test at 36 degree the DA is about 4500’ which is probably less than your true elevation. I’m pretty sure your truck stock did 74 mph and this one did 78 mph. And that’s from a dead stop too and not already rolling at 45-50 mph. Ultimately it looks like the Banks tubes are giving a little better performance. But it’s worth mentioning that the stock truck was faster to 60 and 70 mph. Now it could be that truck just has more power stock than yours, but it’s probably a combination of that and the slightly shorter tires giving it a little shorter overall gearing. I’d say the tire weight is similar though because those BFGs are heavy. So it stands to reason that truck with those same upgrades would be a little quicker than even your truck. You should get your buddy with 3500 AT4 to run his on a similar weather condition day and see what it does. But good job on the video. These are the best in my opinion. Thanks for the shoutout and for demonstrating what the Density Altitude does for performance.

What people don’t realize is that it may not have anymore max Hp but the mid range actually what we use is much improved with the banks stuff. Banks stuff is built for reliability of your vehicle and to give power where you need it. Banks stuff is the real deal but it isn’t for people that want a hot rod truck.

Any time you can run them back to back with nearly identical environmental parameters makes for a superior video comparison. Excellent job brother

JB do the test again with your truck with the modified Banks equipment which I love against a stock Power stroke 500/1200. Acceleration and de-acceleration. Apples to Apples is a 3k upcharge when selecting the diesel option on the Ford vs GM and curious is the added power that is gained from the modified equipment/Banks GM close, as quick or faster than the stock Power-Stroke. If possible, fuel MPG would be great as well and make sure neither truck goes into regen mode.

I will 100% back him up on these claims for this. Put these (tubes/turbo inlet) on my 24' Denali Ultimate 2500 and much better spool up, mid range and top end pull. Egt's are a bit lower as well due to more air flow under load. I'm also at 5000' here in Northern Colorado. 🤘🏻

I love the Banks products I have purchased the Pedal Monster and another one that I can't remember now I really would like to get the product that you had installed in my GMC dually but I have to wait until I get some more money. My plan is to keep my dually because I have a heavy 5th wheel that I tow, so thank you for posting this video because it have helped me with getting them.

Hi JB great video as always love your channel. Also I currently own a 2024 Chevy Silverado High Country 3500 Dually and have had Karl Customs Chevrolet install all my Banks products which are high quality merchandise that has been extremely tested and proven that it works. So bottom line if anyone on here thinks differently to facts that are proven then your just straight naive or lying to yourself. I've had the following items installed in my vehicle this year the Boost Tubes Kit, Monster-Ram Turbo Inlet and Dual Map Sensor Spacer Kit, IDash SuperGauge, IDash DataMonster, Pedal Monster and finally K&N Cold Air Intake. I absolutely notice the difference from factory vs my banks upgrades I have a smoother take off more mid level power and top end speed etc this company has been in biz for over 50 years with proven engineering and extreme testing and continues to test all diesel motors hard for all american manufactures and plays no favorites for Ram, Ford, Chevy & GMC. Gale Banks knows his stuff simple put his company is legit and I would put his product and quality against any other competitor and product. My 2022 3500 does not have adaptive cruise and the exhaust brake definitely works better when cruise is on. The truck uses cruise to keep you from going over the set speed. People either live or hate banks lol. Great video.

JB I love Banks and think are a great company. However, I do have some questions on your test: 1) it appeared that the 0-60 time was actually a bit less with your modified truck? 2) You said you had different tires. Is the Speedo calibrated for the tire change? 3) What was the gear ratio in the Chevy stock truck vs your modified GMC? As a side note, I did notice that the tranny temps in your modified truck were significantly lower than the Chevy. So, obviously that’s a good thing.

His gmc is also a stock setup other than the banks stuff just different packages. AT4x vs whatever the chev was and they are both the same gear ratio.

I can’t wait to get a ford f350 XLT tremor with the HO powerstroke v8 with the pro power on board and the Gooseneck prep as the ultimate outdoorsman and hauling rig because when I do get one I would love to do a comparison with your truck with the banks upgrades vs a stock 500 hp diesel engine but I will most likely put some BF good ridge A/T tires on there for better performance with a higher load capacity for safer towing and just a better ride on and off road

‘Power under the curve’ is very much a thing and something that Banks alludes to time and time again when doing various testing on transmissions and performance modifications. While peak power is nice for bragging rights, the amount of power you have on tap for a given RPM range is what you notice when not strapped to the dyno.

So you can “feel” the power improvements from the Banks add-ons, but your truck was SLOWER to 60 and 70 vs the 1st one. Have you corrected your speedometer for the taller tires?

This is a valid point but JBs truck has stock tires. Where it’s an AT4-X it has essentially 35” tall tires. I believe they are 305/75/18 but I’m not positive. Definitely 305 and 18. But they are a factory size for his truck.

Do you really get 21 miles a gallon? Best I’ve seen is 12 I have 7000 miles on it stock.

Really our 6.6 gas gets 13.5 combined and our diesel gets 18 combined. I would look at changing driving habits probably going to have issues with your vehicles if you get that bad of mpgs.

@ 20 miles a day 98% freeway 75 cruise control. 11.8 miles a gallon top tier diesel fuel only. GMC 3500 dura max also had a pedal monster installed I removed it two days ago see what difference it makes.

The exaust brake is not weaker. It just works differently. If my exaust brake screeched my truck to a halt like the ram. I would hate it. Gm its made to work with the brakeing. Stop sayin its bad. With it on and cruise control active going downhill it works amazing. Turn cruse down it drops fast. Also my truck does not have active cruise control. So that exuse is out the window.

You may have answered it but why didn't you just do a run in your truck, film it, then install the parts and do it again and film it so it was a true apples to apples?

Also why does it shift at 3k rpms? My cummins at WOT will shift at 3400 rpms. You'd think your v8 with a redline at 5k would spin a little more

⁠@@loveracing1988More gears allow it to shift more often and keep the engine in the power band. Since your RAM has larger gaps between gears it has to run higher RPM then shift to the next gear which will be a much lower RPM gap.

Turbocharged diesel RPMs aren’t your friends. Keeping it in the power band is what they are doing. As a fellow RAM owner I enjoy the reliability and simplicity of the I6 and 6 speeds but there is no argument that more speeds would be better in most situations. 🤷‍♂️

@@loveracing1988peak hp is at 2800 rpm so it’s doing exactly what it needs to. Now they do allow an “overrev” condition on de acceleration to help with engine braking but there’s no use in spinning it higher than it is on acceleration.

Nice proof, but not sure it’s worth all of that money to go an extra 3 to 4 mph on a hill. 95% of the time you’re on the flats you’re not climbing 6-7% grades for an entire trip. Overall, the ROI on this investment is pretty much nonexistent.
