What a brilliant review! I had seen this bike in MSN some time ago and am Honda throughout... I've had CB750F and NT650V2 and pondered an ST1300. but at 61, I'm wondering if the CBF1000 would be more sensible. This guy's review is so professional. Chrystal clear audio and excellent video. His commentary is perfect and tells me everything I want to know. And he does it while respecting the environment he rides in instead of it all being about ego! Well done on a great style and thank you!

Mine is a 2007 model, picked it up for 3600 euros, 16000 kilometres, had some stator issues and the fuel filter in the tank had to be changed, after that no problems, just regular services. I would recommend it for town use as well as a good touring machine, will cruise easily at 70-80 all day, looking forward to touring a lot more of Greece this year!

It's a fantastic all round bike. I've had mine for 12 years now and still love it.

Good review! I got myself one 2006 for £1500 as a work horse, got it now over a year and honestly I’m surprised how good it’s, fun, easy to ride, comfortable and puts smile on my face. When I’m in mood I take it out on weekend ride and laughing when leaving behind power rangers on my old ugly but fun biffer

Excellent review, spot on. I have one and bought it for touring round Europe. It is not as flickable mid weight bikes but I had a great time hooning around on the lanes on it. Very under rated and surprise a lot of sport bikes off the lights.

i have one of these. got to say its a really tidy bike. goes like stink and stops just as well. ,loads of power and comfy too. mine is an exceptional model i have to say. few mods here and there and it looks top notch. i love it.

Good review,I've got the 2007 ABS model, and its spot on! I'm 6ft 4, heavier than I should be, and with the seat on the middle setting i am very comfortable . The only mods I've made are changing the bars to Renthal lows because they are a bit wider than the standard ones.
@mickleblade9 жыл бұрын
The saddle and screen are also adjustable, I changed my screen for a givi one, for the same reasons you make. I wish honda had used the standard cbr 3 spoke wheels as the cbf wheels are a bugger to clean. I've had some electrical problems which appear to be corroding connections to the coils, never had that with my 900 hornet. Nice review mate.

Great review. Helped me make up my mind last year when I was looking. I was lucky enough to find a MINT condition 2011 CBF1000GT with only 5k miles on it. You made me laugh when you took off in first & said you almost shot off the bike, I've done that a few times as she picks up speed fast. Love it. Live near the Lake District so looking forward to the weather picking up & heading over a few passes on her. (Called her Arcee after a female Transformer who turns into a bike as thought she looked a bit like a Transformer) :) Safe riding all x

Glad the video helped! Nice find! I never understood how people could ride their bikes so little. Until I got my new job, and now probably only get to ride 1000 - 2000 miles a year :'(

+Luke Paul Google plus wont let me reply directly to your comment, yay. I would love to test ride a MT-09 at some point soon, and as for other triples I have already test rode a Speed Triple (the 1050cc) but not tried the street triple yet.

Stumbled onto your video, thinking of buying a CBF1000. Immediately recognised your were in Barham, where my grandfather has lived for about 20 years! Thought it was a bit random before I noticed you have an identical helmet to mine too. How strange. Excellent video for a potential shopper too, thanks!

Lol, small world! I grew up in Barham, maybe sold your granddad a paper or two when I used to work at Arters petrol station.

Looking at a lot of reviews of the CBF1000 and Bandit 1250, probably for 100th time in my life.. went thru 8 bikes in 12 years, but always wanted one of the two, and as I'm getting older I think it's time! I also own a Hornet right now. :) I just want a super smooth comfortable ride, and something that has more torque then the 600 bikes.
@richardrichard5409 Жыл бұрын
1250 Bandit is bombproof, these Cbf1000 aren't, camchains, CCT, r/R, stators , false neutrals, front wheel bearings but they are at least cheap

Google activated on my mobile device when you said Google. These bikes are apparently very adjustable to a rider's dimensions. Handle bars and seat are at least afaik

Thanks for the terriffic review, plus the one with pillion on board. It influenced my decision to get exactly that model a lot. I happened to catch a 2008 as well, but that was rather coincidence. Mine has a replacement/custom shield but the "in the face" thing still is a matter of medium disturbance.

what would you say as a first bike ? 48 yr old new rider i need a affordable lazy tourer ?
@MunkehsMotors8 жыл бұрын
It would be one hell of a first bike! But if your a sensible person and a sensible rider I guess you'd be okay. It's very easy to ride and the power delivery is easy to handle.

Great review mate. Nice and to the point! I'm interested, how do you compare the sportiness of the CBF compared to your Hornet? I've only ever driven a Hornet and a CB500, which I both love how they handle, so I'm afraid the CBF will be a beast to handle in the twisties. I'm going to be getting it primarily for going 2-up, but I still want to be able to have some fun when I don't have my g/f on the back.
@MunkehsMotors6 жыл бұрын
It's been a little while since I rode the CBF but from what I can remember it was good fun in the twisties, don't remember it being sluggish to turn in. I'd recommend you have a test ride to see for yourself before deciding.
@steve176 жыл бұрын
Munkeh's Motors Thanks man, much appreciated. A proper test ride is hard to find these. We don't really have "dealers" here, more like used motorcycle salesmen. The only possible way to have a proper testdrive is from a private party, but it's rare they'll let you drive it more than a few minutes around the block. That's why I'm trying to gather as much info as a I can :)
