skip to 12:45 if u dont want to see all the shaky riding and just want to hear the good part of motorized bicycle. advantages of motorizing your bicycle vs scooter is the weight, i can put it on my roof rack, you cant do that with a heavier scooter. you dont need insurance for motor bike, scooter does. You can pedal. its over 150 miles per gallon, scooters are maybe 90 mpg MAX. The parts are VERY cheap, you can go to walmart and buy replacement for your bicycle's needs, scooters cant.. Plus you can ride this pretty much anywhere, dirt, beach sand (yes i drove this through sand and did just fine because of the lightweight i dont get buried)... i guess you need a suspension fork unless you want a good arm workout, but i dont want to spend any more money to this project thats originally intended as a gift, because it is that- a gift as soon as i finish motorizing another bike for myself. i have shocks on my recumbent that im adding motor soon.

I've got a 2 stroke flying horse in mine, love driving it to college every day, now I don't short trip my car six times a day. It's also more fun, and much better on fuel.

To classify, its technically a gas motor assisted bycicle. Not a motorcycle. I personally prefer the bike lane because you can ride faster and it tends to be smoother but at the same time ill use the sidewalk when there's a lot of traffic or im going slow

The footpath is set aside by law as a safe place for pedestrians to walk. By riding a motorised vehicle on the path you will end up getting these bikes banned in your country. These things get around the law somehow but drawing unwanted attention to them by using them dangerously is not a good idea.

Your English is fine. Good motorize bicycle build. Good choice of choosing a 4 stroke engine over a 2 stroke engine. I had build a 2 stroke engine bicycle build four times but the 4 stroke is the best of reliability (Engine will always start), fuel efficiency is far better than the 2 stroke engine, quieter than the 2 stroke engine, little maintenance, gasoline burn cleaner than 2 stroke engine, very little to no vibrations, 4 stroke engine last longer than a 2 stroke engine. 2 stroke engine is noisy, it vibrate the bicycle and loosen the bolts & screws, it leaks oil, 2 stroke engine is a dirty engine cause you have to mix the oil with the gasoline together, doesn't completely burn all the fuel and sometimes it won't start. The only pros about 2 stroke engine is the engine and parts are inexpensive, it can be modified many ways and it slightly has a little bit more power than the 4 stroke engine (may get about 2 to 3 mile per hour faster than the 4 stroke engine even if both are using the same amount number of teeth on the sprocket.). Anyway, good video (Should've use a camera with image stabilization or a better image stabilization next time) and best on your next build project. 👍🚲

Terrence Harvey search California Motorbikes and be sure it has 8mm motormount studs for around $150.00 , and I have a $100.00 Walmart bike . The rag joint the kit comes with is junk so be sure to buy a hub adapter for the rear sprocket which I found for $36.00 on eBay and it is worth every penny . Also the 36 tooth rear sprocket on my wildcat engine gets me 40 mph . Be sure to replace the axle grease on front and rear hub of any bicycle to high temp grease .

@@charliepatterson9321 That is the most dangerous advice I think I have ever heard. Walmart bikes can fall apart just from normal bike riding. They are the cheapest aluminum china can make. At the very least get a low end Raleigh for $300. Still reasonably cheap but you can trust they are made of stainless steel and will not break from engine vibration. Clone engines such as the Huashang engines are a lot more reliable than the very cheap chinese HT engines.

@@eddycarmona3979 For this engine, getting 150 MPG is pretty easy if you are gentle on the engine. Although 100 MPG is much more common. One of the nice things about motorized bicycles is they get amazing gas mileage. You can buy one-gallon gas tanks (I have one) but they are a little bulky for a bike and harder to find than the half-gallon tanks. If you plan on going very long distances, it would be wise to pick up a one-gallon gas tank. :-)

In most countries a motorized vehicle with displacement under 50cc is a moped, above 50cc is category A1 motorcycle. All motorized vehicles and electric vehicles with power output over 0,2Kw must be registered and insured and require atleast a AM category drivers licence. No licence plates, registration, helmet or drivers licence: huge fine or vehicle impounded. I dont know about US, but in EU this is how it works.

@jburr36
@jburr36 8 жыл бұрын
commercially built scooters are built with engines by design and must conform to FTA standards so no. Bicycles are not designed for engines. The brakes, wheel bearings, hubs, lights, etc are not adequate. They must be upgraded to work properly. Some people have had the frame damaged from the torque from the engine. If you try to put an engine kit to a cheap walmart bike expect to replace every part on the frame with quality parts. Especially the rims and brakes. If you get a good quality well built bike then you will be ok. One other point is that these kits are like a 'one size fits all' style however every bike is just a bit different. It's going to take some considerable amount of time for modifications to make it work well. The engines are pretty reliable and if one can invest the time and effort into the modifications needed the bicycle can be really good. So in essence it boils down to what you put into your build.

your right about that. after 5 motorized bikes, 2 gas powered, u have to know what your getting into before investing.. must have= 1 disk brake, shocks (unless u like your tailbone beaten up). im staying at electric powered for now, but if i go further with gas powered, i'll proceed with water cooled... my recommendation for newbies is only use this 30 miles at a time and allow it to cool and you'll be fine, otherwise go for water cooled

I disagree with almost all of this. The point of these things is to be fun, cheap, and easy to fix. If I here to put everything you talked about on that bike it would be $1000 if not more. It would be a 4 stroke, more moving parts, harder to fix. I Can Change the cylinder and head and all the gaskets on my engine in about 5 or 10 mins for about 30 bucks. Give or take. If I'm Going To be be expensive like a motorcycle, complicated to repair like a motorcycle, and not nearly as fast as a mptorcycle, why not just buy a used sports bike for 1k? You can find them on Craigs list all day. I got my setup running for $250. And has lasted my over a year so far with every day or every other day use.

@@BOREDANDWELLBORED Not really the point of a motorized bicycle. If you just want to use the engine and are confident you will never be left stranded by it, then sure a sports bike would work fine. The benefit of a motorized bicycle is that if the engine goes out, you can disconnect the chain and you still have a bicycle. Not to mention sports bikes are not street legal here but motorized bicycles are. :-P With that said, I think I ended up spending a total of ~$700 on my motorized bicycle setup. $300 for the bike, $300 for the engine and mounting parts, and $100 for accessories.

Bite me, I’ll ride where “I” deem it’s safe, it’s my life not yours and I always slow then dismount walking my bike whenever encountering pedestrians, so go try to piss in someone else’s pool.

You must have a death wish riding a motorcycle on the sidewalk. I've never seen so many traffic violations in one video.

1. Way too fast on the sidewalk. 2. Get off the sidewalk, you are safer on the street 3. Think about other drivers. Your off/on sidewalks at that speed would scare even a motorcyclist because no one car anticipate your actions. 4. Gloves?, at least. -from 35mph motorbike rider

Yes well you only go that fast when there's no people around. Well come to think of it that is safe in fact because that's how police in Texas drive on the highway. I was going to court in San Marcos homeless in the backseat of a police car hand cuffed going 95 miles an hour. With a car in front clearing the way.
