I’m super disappointed in the Raptor R, it looks great but why they couldn’t just give us the 765hp is annoying. I watched a interview with Ford where they said that there’s no need to be above the competition because they like to leave room for growth. Meaning they like to keep things in their back pocket and be competitive with everyone because that’s what makes money.

5.0 will always have my heart and it’s what I’m passionate about. But the powerboost is the first gas alternative vehicle that I see as a practical future. The the speed and mpg, plus it’s still very modifiable and easy to make your own makes those a beast. Maybe I’ll get a next gen. Thank you for watching and commenting!

To make it VERY clear E85 is not Biden’s gas!!! People have been using it for years for extra horsepower. And as far as mpg goes as long as E85 is around 60-80 cents cheaper than regular gas it is worth using! I even notice extra power in my F150 that just has the 3.3l v6. Your dash might say 10mpg but you are still saving a lot of money at the prices i seen.
@kirkkarnage6344

My truck normally gets 16.5 mpg on regular gas. And like 13.5 on E85. My mpg is not the same as sticker as i put 33x11.5in tires on my truck. Sort of regret that because of the mpg, but I already paid for them so I might as well use them. I can switch to a better tire for mpg later.

@@ColeCulture you should do that math again because at over a $1.00 difference per gallon you should save quite a bit on e85. I mean i save even on just 60 cents difference. So there is no way you don’t save.

You're not going to notice a performance improvement going to E85 on a stock tune truck. You may notice it runs smoother. Reason being is with a stock tune the engine doesn't get any extra timing added regardless of whether you're running regular, premium, E85, straight meth, etc, but you're less likely to get into detonation with the higher octane fuels. Think about it a GEN3+ Coyote uses a 12.1 CR and is rated to run on 87 octane in the F150. To make it able to survive on 87 with that much compression Ford has to retard the shit out of its timing. This is one reason the Mustangs Coyote makes so much more HP stock. They're not rated to run on regular octane, so they're not tuned so conservatively from the factory. The awesome thing about the F150's Coyote is it's a factory flex fuel vehicle unlike the Mustang so you can run E85 without having to mod anything, and there are tuners who do custom flex fuel tunes for them. A custom flex fuel tune will automatically adjust the engines timing based on the octane you're running. A factory tune won't give you extra timing (big HP jump) just because your put in a higher octane. Custom flex fuel tune will. It will add or pull timing to maximize the engines performance in a safe manner based on whatever octane you use. Having a GEN2+ F150 with a Coyote, and having 5-6 different tunes from the same tuner for it is stupid IMO. Why do you need an 87 tune/91 tune/E85 tune/tow tune, etc when a custom flex fuel tune will self adjust to optimize your trucks performance for any given situation, running any given octane rating? That is the beauty of flex fuel. It self adjusts to optimize how your engine runs and performs to any given octane rating. It makes tuning easy, cheap, and hassle free. You basically just throw the tune on it, get it optimized for your vehicle through either dyno tuning, or datalogging, and then you forget about it until you start adding more mods, and you'll then need to adjust the tune to match them. A 18+ F150 5L truck is night and day better with a custom flex fuel tune and E85 in the tank than it is stock. A 18+ F150 5L is one of those few vehicles that does make the argument for running E85 while N/A a worthwhile thing to do. I recommend using a tuner know for putting a quality flex fuel tune on a 18+ F150. I use All Motor Research Labs, (AMRL or most just say AML) but and OZ Tuning is also highly recommended. Palm Beach Dyno, 5 Star, and LundRacing also put very good performing tunes on these truck, but I don't believe they do flex fuel tunes, so they wouldn't self adjust, and would require different custom tunes, for different octane ratings. Just don't get some mail order tune from American Truck or some BS like that. Go with a reputable tuner who will datalog back and forth with you until your trucks tune is optimized. Here are some links for good 18+ F150 5L tuners who do flex fuel tunes. If they aren't local to you then you need to understand that this isn't 2007 anymore and dyno tunes aren't required as we now have datalogging and it works great for custom tuning. allmotorresearchlabs.com/ oztuning.com/ Edit: Here are some videos of GEN3+ 5L trucks with custom tunes on E85. I just bought a 2022 f150 Platinum ( Black appearance package) has the 5.0 v8 as well. With 3.73 gears. 4x4 of course super crew cab. All optioned out, probably heaviest f150 v8 you can get. It came with a level and 34 inch tall Nitto Ridge grapplers. This truck surprises me big time. I’m assuming I have a really good coyote engine. I used Dragy just yesterday and got 6.2 seconds 0-60 And 14.3 seconds 1/4 mile Oh and also it’s still on dealer gas, they used the basic 87 octane. When I need to fill it up, ima try 93 octane and test agian 👌🏼.

Its cheaper but burns way faster. If the price is a marginal difference than regular 87-91 gasoline it can actually cost you more using E85. Imo its not worth it at all since it never seems to be cheap enough to beat the quicker burn rate

First of all wanna say that I love your channel! I have had a 3.5 ecoboost and towed a lot with it. I tow a 7 x 7 x 16 enclosed trailer. I then had a one ton 6.7 diesel, now i have the 5.0 coyote and actually I am picking up my new truck next week: a power boost. (Yes I am indecisive. But my trucks are like toys to me. Lol). I am getting the power boost both for towing and MPG. So that the only thing I disagree with you on this episode - the power boost will tow WAY better than the 5.0. My 5.0 does not tow my enclosed trailer very well at highway speeds. The 5.0 tows great when it’s revved way up -but only when revved up high. It lacks the low end torque of the ecoboost and powerboost. Obviously if you throw a supercharger on your 5.0 that’s gonna tow like a flippin beast! Anyway. Love the channel. Enjoy you and your dad. 🙂
@ColeCulture
@ColeCulture 2 жыл бұрын
Only said not to get a powerboost if your towing a lot because the 5.0 has a higher tow rating and payload. 5.0 has also been around for a little bit and is a reliable tower. I’m fully aware that the powerboost can tow well. But there’s a lot of people out there who buy a truck just for towing and won’t daily it which is another reason why I make that comment. I love that you love my channel and I appreciate the support! Thank you for watching and commenting!

Ive noticed after this last summer on really hot days and only on hot starts after motor has ran a while itll run a little rough for a second at startup. It does not do that with the e85 and just overall smoother. I thought it could be an oil issue but it has not happenned again since ive been running the e85. Turbos will make any motor better.....🤔 Change my mind... What would happen if you put a single turbo or a supercharger on that 5. Slow and then landed up with the Egoboost?😂 All EcoBoost owners act like their EcoBoost is doing 10 seconds faster than the 5.0 and a quarter... And the 5.0 vs the EcoBoost the 5.0 gets better gas mileage when pulling a fully loaded trailer vs the EcoBoost......

On another note...... Thanks for doing a video with E 85.... I watched your video on that and a couple others.. I filled my truck up with it yesterday for the first time.... I'm not sure if I will do it every time but I think I will if I'm going to do some performance stuff like Silver Lake or pull my camper I will use e85... Or if it's 50 cents to a dollar cheaper than regular gas then I will go with e85.... Are you still running e85 in your trucks?

Dude. I love your videos and love watching them while I wait for my F150 haha… BUT.. there is sooo much in your first 30 seconds of this video that is just SOOO wrong haha. 1. E85 is the OCTANE rating.. it has NOTHING to do with the amount of Ethanol in a vehicle. It is NOT cleaner. It will actually make your car more likely to knock, especially at lower elevations. E85 is sold in high altitude states like Utah and Wyoming allll day long and has been forever because its not an issue at those elevations. 2. Ethanol, although sometimes derived from biofuels, is not a ‘Flex’ fuel. Flex fuels were a completely differnet beast and died a long time ago because it just wasn’t ecnomical and didn’t catch on like many technologies don’t. 3. Biden has NOTHING to do with either haha. He might have made comments about biofuels or something that you are referencing but since you’re only talking about the octane rating and a small amount of ethanol, that has nothing to do with it.
@ColeCulture
@ColeCulture 2 жыл бұрын
Dude. I love that your commenting, but there’s so much in your comment that you got wrong or just simply misunderstood. Lol. First off It should be noted that I am not an expert on fuel like I’m willing to bet your not either so anyone reading this should take that has suck. ( if you are than sorry ) I don’t break down anything about E85….. like at all. Matter a fact everything I say in the video I show what google says on it. I google flex fuel because that’s literally the term on my window sticker telling me I can run E. I then show what google says flex fuel is that way viewers can get a general idea. I then show the google definition on E85, not my definition but googles. I didn’t call it a “cleaner” but what I said is a roomer I’ve heard sense the dawn of time about E. That it’s a much cleaner fuel and it burns so hot that it actually will burnout any gunk. Again I’ve never said that it is a fact I say in the video that’s what I’ve heard. And the Biden thing is a joke on how dumb that old man is. When he was saying that E85 is gonna save the world along with electric vehicles. Anyway I appreciate you watching and commenting thank you!
@Austden
@Austden 2 жыл бұрын
@@ColeCulture I did misunderstand that you were just stating it was a rumor and not stating you believe that. But I think you're all sorts of confused about what E85 gas is. It's just a lower octane rating of an ethanol based gas. That's it. It has nothing to do with flex fuels. The primary difference is at lower altitude your truck will be more susceptible to knocking. It's actually in the owners manual of the F150 to NOT use anything less than I believe E87 and can void the warranty (probably not something you're concerned with if you're gonna supercharge it lol).

I like this channel a lot, but just, hear me out, I know I'm a minority opinion here. Perhaps consider why you make fun of the sitting US President on the channel. It's totally fine to do that, but what does that mean to your viewers? I'm sitting here wondering, "Oh, Am I part of Trump Truck Channel?" "Is there more of this to come, I thought we were talking about trucks?" It's just a jab I know, but it makes it pretty obvious you dislike Biden, again which is fine, but it creates polarization even if you think it shouldn't. Maybe I define politics differently, but if calling E85 "Biden's Gas" isn't a political comment, I don't know what is. I see those same stickers like the one you showed on gas pumps and it sends a pretty clear message, might as well say "Let's Go Brandon" on them, which is not why I am here. Just wanted to share my 2 cents as a F150 owner that sees it differently.
