You have the nozzle cap removal tool sitting right on the table. That same tool is used to remove the trigger air valve plunger assembly. It even holds onto the valve cover while you clean the plunger. No need to use separate pliers.

Cleany thing = paint gun tip cleanerTip if you cant afford a compressor when first starting out, a large mounted car tire at regular pressure will run an airbrush quite a while. Then just go down to the gas station to refill when needed.

Thank you for the details in disassembly and reassembly. I use an airbrush for spraying cocoa butters into my chocolate molds and really needed the guidance. Your video assisted me in solving my issues! Cheers.

I found the Iwata lube always gummed up my airbrush after awhile even with very small amounts. I use the oil that’s made for barber clippers and no more issues.

Good video overall. One thing I do differently is that I never pull the needle through the back of the brush because you always run a risk of pulling paint into the back end of the brush which is harder to clean. Once you have the cone tip off you can just push it through the front where you do the majority of your cleaning.
@zzz7zzz97 жыл бұрын
another thing I heard, was pulling the needle out the rear can damage the seals. no idea if it's true or not. my passche, I have always pulled the needles out through the rear and never had any problems whatsoever. I just picked up an iwata revo hp-cr today.

I've watched an other maintenance video and the guy showed a trick how to put back the last piece, the tiny nozzle part. First he put the needle in and slid it onto the needle, that held it back in place. Mine came with a small driver too.

Hot water works great. Get enough boiling water and turn the stove off. Let the airbrush get a fully submerged hot bath without the niddle. Stir it frequently while the water cools down and see stuck paint flowing off the airbrush. Repeat it two or three times and you'r set. Taking apart and letting all parts have a bath separately works like a charm. I rescued my airbrush stuck with urethane with this trick (yeah don't ask why the fridge I used minwax's urethane). I found this more useful than using solvents many times before.

why, because of talko-too-muchi? What's wrong with that, why I recall a time way back in the day! When we didn't even HAVE airbrush lube. AND the seals weren't made o' no fancy Buna rubber No! They were made from MANLY seals like LEATHER/PLEATHER/and even TLEATHER (Leather from giant turtles!) And WE Didn't worry about no fancy ---
@PfeifferFishing2 жыл бұрын
There’s still a seal left in that airbrush . It’s not safe to put in solvent yet Air valve guide body has a seal on it And it’s still in the airbrush when you stated it’s good to soak in solvent . Thought I would let you know

the air valve is probably best removed with an automotive tyre valve key ( cross shaped tool, has a fang like tube, this is the valve remover; also has two thread chasers, [internal and external] & a valve depressor), this is the safest way of removal, without damaging the valve or marring other parts.

Metal cleaning brushes and demonstrating the use of pliers for beginners, really? And only once a year? You must be joking. Cleaning the valve at this stage for beginners isn’t appropriate. With most new users they’ll end up wreaking their airbrush. And this is supposed to be a cleaning airbrush video not a compressor review. Also, the Iwata cleaning kit is not needed and is expensive for some people. There’s far better how to clean airbrush videos out their :(

If you use car paint or equal then you should disassemble it completely after every usage.
@Steamrick9 жыл бұрын
+Henrik Thuresson If you're spraying car paint you might also think about using a bigger paint brush... and using a more aggressive solvent than mere alcohol. Though those universal solvents are sensitising and generally quite unhealthy so I can understand why a hobbyist wouldn't want to use them.

Booo... you didn’t take apart the front entirely! I compared my two siphon-feed Iwatas trying to figure out why one want spraying properly - its a misaligned air hole in the front … but I can’t figure out how to rotate it. The rotation is different on both. On the one that works well a fine brush goes halfway through both holes and stops. On the dodgy one one hole it goes halfway and stops - on the other hole the brush goes all the way in! I’m returning these …
