I think that sticker Adam got is from the deleted "Wampa Scenes" from ESB! In the scene, C-3P0 rips what looks like a "Warning, do not open" sign off one of the doors in Echo Base in order to trick the Snowtroopers into opening it and being attacked by wampas. There's even a Wilhelm Scream!
@Zalifone10 ай бұрын
That's exactly what it is! Just double checked the deleted scene to be sure.

Yep! Here's the deleted scene if anyone is interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmGkoJZqjZ6pg80si=qz5vkeeYzJAr3O9j&t=226 The truth is, it's a better movie without these scenes (the Wampa doesn't look as scary as it could), but it's always nice to see extra Star Wars stuff.
@DavidLLambertmobile10 ай бұрын
There are a few Echo Base Wampa scenes with R2 & a few seeking to attack the rebels en mass, 4-5. I think GL was smart not to use the Wampa base stuff.

For an 8 year old in 1980, who thought they understood Star Wars, watching the Wampa attack in the theater was so startling. "Aww, what a cute Tauntaun...AUGH!!! What just happened?"

My schoolfriend had a Wampa paw in a cardboard box. This was in 1982/83 in a small town outside London, UK. He said it was given to him by a relative that worked on the movie. There may have also been a head but that could be my memory playing tricks on me.

Given they had reference for the original, it’s a mystery as to why the Wampa in the Special Edition looks so different?
@egodreas10 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If this was shot later, why the light skin and obscured horns? Looks like a completely different creature. Of course, I've seen the shot dozens of times without ever noticing, so it doesn't really matter. But seems odd to break continuity for no obvious reason.

In the making of Empire, remember when they tried to get a really tall guy in a Wampa suit and on small stilts to drag a dummy of Luke in the snow and it wasn't working out for them, as the guy kept losing his balance and falling over? I later wondered, since it was just the Wampa and Luke in the frame and there was no sense of scale in that shot, since it was all just white snow all around, why didn't they just use a regular guy in a suit dragging a small version dummy of Luke? I thought of that years later, but I'm surprised they didn't think of that then.
