TesTex Inc has developed our Off Surface Electromagnetic Technique System (OSET) for the inspection of insulated pipes. Previously the only way to inspect these was to remove the insulation (a costly and time consuming procedure) or to do spot UT checks with build in UT windows hoping to catch areas of corrosion. With the OSET system you can detect welds, OD corrosion, pipe schedule changes etc. without removing any insulation.
