I have the salt and pepper shakers and have kind of a love/hate relationship with them. It's very easy to over salt your food because as soon as you tip it over, a bunch of fine salt plops out from the previous time you used it. Because of that, it's actually still a two-handed operation for me, since I dispense it into my hand before sprinkling it on my food. The measuring spoon seems promising, but I kind of wish you'd tried it with a less viscous liquid before calling it water tight.

I bought those same salt and pepper mills. The pepper worked well however, the salt quit after about 8 months. It seems that the salt corroded the metal shaft and it got stuck thus burning out the motor. I tried to get a replacement but, the company didn't respond. So I went back to the manual one that I used for years. Now, on the manual one, I disassemble it after every "tank full" and rinse the salt out and let it air dry for a day. It seems to work great.

You use the measurements on the sleeve as the markings for the liquids. For the solids you flip it over and adjust the plunger to your measurement and fill all the way to the top. This way you can use a knife to level it off for exactness. I’ve had it for 10 yrs and it never leaked. I have the pepper mill but a different brand. That was exactly my thought - I would have to stop & wash that measuring spoon each time, because I don't necessarily want sugar in my salt or dry ingredients stuck to the leftover wet ingredients. Also, I don't see how it saves space - my measuring spoons nest into a stack that's smaller than that device, or I can hang them up. Same with the cup thingy, plus I use different cup sets for dry and wet ingredients so I'd still have to have extras. I'm not sure if the accuracy issue - because there definitely is one - was just him being too quick about it or if there's actually a problem, but I wouldn't trust either device from this video.

Almost 20 years ago I went to a Chef's something or other party. (Similar to a Tupperware party.) One of the things I purchased was a measuring cup, very similar to what you showed Except, you can use both ends. One is for liquids and the other for dry. That dry end is great for think gooey stuff like honey, because the one section slides down (Like a plunger). You don't have to turn around the outer piece because the markings for dry are upside-down from the liquid. I use it most everyday. I probably paid less than what that one cost. I also have measuring spoons like those..cheap version from WM. I'm not a fan.

I'm pretty sure it was Pampered Chef because my mom had the same thing!

I've had an adjustable measuring cup like that for years - pampered chef I think. Great for peanut butter, honey, shortening, things like that. I've had adjustable measuring spoons for years too so those are also nothing new

My grandma used to own something like the Adjust-a-cup when i was a kid. It was a designated peanut butter measuring device.

I can see how the adjust a cup would be great for thick things like honey. You can push the bottom up when you're pouring it in and it will scrape the sides of the container and get out easier.

I have the pepper grinder and have been using it regularly for I think about a year. I love it. Sometimes the blue light bothers me. I don’t think it really helps at all with seeing how much has come out.

I have those salt and pepper grinders. I love them. I've had them for a couple of years and they work great still. I've only had to replace the batteries maybe twice

i am very bias when it comes to measuring units...i love to bake and you need to be pretty precise when it comes to baking. i dont think i would use anything like those adjust-a-cups for baking, that is for sure. now that i am older, i have actually started using a scale! alot of americans don't really do that, i would have to say, but once you start you will notice a difference and it's pretty cool :D

The adjustable measuring cup is one of the few gadgets you've reviewed I actually have. It comes in handy when I'm measuring out the dry milk for my cereal in the morning

On the salt and pepper shakers, if you accidentally knock them over, they will keep on running until the batteries go out if you don't set them upright.

tbh it's probably not the numbers they are concerned with coming off in the dishwasher, it's the seals preventing the water leaking

For the record you should never hard scoop flour. You end up packing it down too much and then get too much flour. Just shovel spoonfuls into your measuring device.

I actually have been using the gravity mills for over a year and love them. Have only changed the batteries in the last month.

I have the gravity pepper & salt set, It take 6 AAA batteries for each one and I've noticed they get hung up at times with trying to use and sometimes nothing works you have to untwist it and move the batteries around for it work work again. The lighting is fine and it has several different settings by twisting the cap to set the desired grinding amount. Overall I do like them had them for about 2yrs now.

I’ve had adjust a cup for over 10 yrs. I have always put it in the dish washer! Numbers look like new. No problems at all! A fav!

You push the plunger from the bottom to empty contents on adjust a cup, thats the point of it, to get all the sticky ingredients out for you, twist the bottom up and voila, thanks James , you are awesome !❤

Salt and pepper shakers have lasted a little over a year now, no issues yet and they're used daily. Don't use cheap batteries and you're golden.

I have used that measuring spoon before. Over time the numbers come off from sliding the adjuster and it rubbing the black numbers off. It feels so chunky and takes up more space (longer) than my regular stacking measuring spoons.

I use the adjustable cup thing for shortening and peanut butter, butter or honey. Its great because it get all the the product off the sides. I also have the spoon. I use that a lot also.

I bought the exact shakers a few weeks ago and so far, love them. Turning them upside down is still more intuitive then years of holding upright & pushing a button or twisting plus they don't leak out bottom in the cabinet. We'll see if the coarse natural sea salt I use breaks it or not as it's taken down quite a few grinders.
