If you want to fight impedance rise the most, you would have to have true D1 subwoofers, and wire each D1 subwoofer to half of an ohm, AND use the Taramps Bass Smart 8Ks, as those new Bass Smart amps are Half ohm stable, AND do there rated power @ 1/2 ohm, 1 ohm, AND 2 ohms! The reg. Smart full range Taramps only do rated @ 1 ohm, and 2 ohms. So on enclosures that have 2 and a half to 4 X impedance rise, Like most bandpass enclosures do, you still will rise higher than 2 ohms, when wired to 1 ohm! If you had 4 X rise, and were wired to 1 ohm, on a reg. Full range Smart 8k, you would only get 4 ohm power on some musical notes= about 5k per amp. But if you had the Taramps Bass Smart 8k, and were wired @ 1/2= the Bass Smart 8ks are 1/2 ohm rated/stable, and you had the same 4 X impedance rise= up to 2 ohms, you would still get 8k per amp! So even though these reg. Full range Smart 8ks did less on a peak burp, vs Bc 17ks(cause they were wired @ 1/2 ohm), the reg. Smart was able to do better on music, cause they have less of a power drop off, as the impedance fluctuates= better avg. Scores, like when you tryed the propper droppers SPL format for Db testing. Please re✔️ your propper droppers score with these amps? So in the future, if you want a higher peak burp score, and even higher avg. Musical scores, get true D1 coiled subwoofers, and run a Taramps Bass Smart 8k, @ 1/2 ohm to each subwoofer= Best of both worlds! I know its easier said than done, as this stuff costs alot of $. Ps., all of the people i talk to that run Taramps, say they do "Not" like high Rca input voltage, stay between 1 volt, and no higher than 1.5volts, or they may blow up!? Just crank up the amplifier gain to get your power up, hope this helps, and Great video, thanks!

Wiring to .5 with the smarts u start to see/hear throttle of power very often its annoying

@@dblovah5156Well no one should wire the reg. Full range Smart amps @ 1/2 ohm, as they are only rated to be stable @ 1 ohm, the New Bass Smart series of taramps are rated for 1/2 ohm.

Whoever said to get a smart bass and wire to 1/2 ohm vs just getting regular smart 8k and wiring to 1ohm obviously didn't do the research behind that statement. Look up barevids and Jones subwoofer solutions videos on the subject. Hell, even williston audio labs has a video proving that smart 8k can make more power than bass versions and that's without wiring into the dirt.

@@JohnG1000I have watched all of those video's, i DID plenty of research, and many subwoofer enclosures/systems have 4x impedance rise. Also Taramps designed the Bass Smart Series to be stable @ 1/2 ohm= not wired in the dirt, as you say. Why do you think the Bass Series Smart 8k makes more power @ 2 ohms= 8,100, vs @ 1/2 ohm= 7,400, and @ 1 ohm= 7,700 on the amp dyno? It's because Taramps knows alot of subwoofer enclosures/systems will have 4x impedance rise, like this system does. So on a max SPL burp, when wired @ 1 ohm, on a regular Smart 8k= full range series, with 4x impedance rise= 5k power, vs with the Bass Series Smart 8k, when wired @ 1/2 ohm, and with the same 4x impedance rise= 2 ohm power of 8,100, that's 3,100 watts more REAL WORLD POWER vs on an amp dyno!

Definitely need to wire down to .5 so they don’t rise above 2. Leaving like 8 - 12k watts on the table. Badass setup by the way.

@@krabment yeah. I run 2 regular smart 8s. Not the bass one. I run them at .5 ohms, they rise to 1.6 after 5 minutes of full tilt. I’m clamping 18k from just 2. I’m thinking about getting two more so I’m not stressing them out so much.

@@krabment yeah. The ones I have are not half ohm stable. As long as you know you impedance rise is above .5ohms then the amp will be fine.

I did a test with the truck completely sealed on a single amp, and my box raise was 1.9 ohm. I was able to clamp 9500 watts on the amp. But with the door open, i get louder, but my box raises to 2.5 ohm, and I'm only clamping 6500 watts per amp, which is not enough to do the 164 db. I need to be able to clamp around 9000 watts per amp to achieve the 164 db. I still have the Crescendos 17k. I can install them for a competition 👍🔉🔈🔊

Is louder with the door open . But seal i get less box rise and i can clamp more power out of the amplifiers. Or i might have to test out the system to see what she does seal with this amps. I think it can do a 160db on a higher frequency 👍🔉🔈

First u have a beautiful setup, I run six smart fives on six 18's, I am wired down to half ohm at one ohm making 6200 watts each, I think u need to wire down to a true half ohm, u have 2k in amps basically and clamping 24k, the crescendo are really nice but hard to compare the 17k to four budget amps

You were right on about the Smart amps throttling down, or restricting power when trying to clip them. Your reg Smart 8ks did a total of approx. 25k, on your 40 Hz test tone burp. I think your video that you showed your 164.22 @ 40hz, with your 2-Bc 17ks @ 1/2 ohm each, showed the term Lab power probes reading 14,500 per amp, so X 2= 29k on your 40Hz burp, @ a stereo comp. I think if you had True D1 subs, each wired to 1/2 ohm, with the New Taramps "Bass" Smart 8ks (X 4)= they are 1/2 ohm rated/stable, you should be able to get 30k to 32K on a burp @ 40Hz, plus be even louder on music than now!?

I'm going to have to recone the subs in the future. i might order de D1 coils and then wait to see if they will make the smart bass 12k 👍

@@956Bassaddict I think with the bass 8 @0.5 u will have heating issues, at least I do at 100% my friend with 2_15's four inch coils clamps 14.4k on two smart fives, for a sixth your rise isn't terrible. U have done a amazing job on this build. What state are u in? I am about to rebuild to 8-18's and would not mind someone building me a shell

@@Ty2Gudda a lot of power equals a lot of heat especially with neo and they lose force with heat, but his enclosure may have much better air flow then mine, my truck is super windy but keeps a spot of 'stale' air right around the port that just stays in their and heats tf outta my rear woofers compared to the front

SSA studio solutions audio. But to make it work, you need the meter. The name of the meter i have is. APM-X bluetooth spl meter by SSA

Try burping at different frequency and find what frequency it rises less one by one from 30 to 60hz

I probably do that on a future video. When i bought the amps. I installed one of them at 1 ohm. And i burp the system with the cabin completely sealed and only raised to 1.9 ohm. I was able to clamp 9300 watts on that single amp. 👍🔉🌪

With 4 taramps smart 8k. I'm clamping around 26800 watts. And with the 2 crescendos. I'm clamping around 36000 watts 👍🔈🔉🔊
