With those drill pumps, you are supposed to prime them first. Put some fluid in the pump first (pour a little into directly), and then run it. It have a longer life also. They work surprisingly well.
@MarioLuisJuFerreira6 ай бұрын
Ikr, a flex shaft tool for 60 bucks it’s actually really good and from how well it looks like it worked without the proper lubrication, I feel like it’s more their lack of technical skills. I use flex shafts for jewelry and they are technical tools, considering how loud the noise was I’m assuming they had their foot on the pedal full force and definitely not used to the tool.
@AschenDogАй бұрын
They do seem useful for when syphoning via gravity isn't possible, provided you know how to use one like you said. For a special case, I have an antique drill that's still corded and plugs into the wall so the last two words I want to use with it are "cheap" and "water" lmao.
@Sanyaenyenwa8 күн бұрын
Centrifugal impeller pumps like this, whether it's a cheap drill powered one from amazon or an expensive standalone one from a reputable brand, pretty much all share the same drawbacks: They are really bad at getting water flowing by themselves, without being primed first. Also, they need water flowing through them as a cooling medium. A high quality one with a good bearing may last a little longer before overheating, but if you stick one end in a thick medium and just let it run dry at full speed like this, it will crap out just the same as this one.

The stick for the weeds looks like a terrible version of a great tool my mom has. It's made with a sturdy stick and a better mechanism with 4 metal grabbers, it's very good at pulling weeds out with a thick deep reaching root. I am really curious how the pump would have performed if used 'properly'. Did the instructions not mention anything about priming??
