Have you guys considered "wet washing/colorer washing/antiquing" some of your more detailed pieces? Such as your crystals and what not. This would highlight the raised areas and deepen the groves making those details really stand out. What sort of paint and/or resin mix would you do this with I wonder?

@@Jo-er6tw to my knowledge it’s biodegradable? I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, it’s literally just gelatin (or agar) and water. Gelatin is typically animal derived, Agar is seaweed, so i highly doubt it wouldn’t be. Side note, I hate jello so much 😅 I would actually hurl if someone presented me with a giant jello, which is the main reason I refuse to do historical dinner parties with my friends (particularly American historical dishes…there are a LOT of gelatin based dishes 🤢)

Exactly, I was screwing around with the Bing image thing, trying to get it to make a protogen fursuit, but it had no idea what that was, and gave me a cyborg fox fursuit with glowing traces on the ears, and now I wanna see if I can get someone to help me incorporate that into an actual fursuit.

You can peel the mold back a little and add either isopropyl alcohol or just water with some dish soap, squish the mold around to break the seal, and the the molded item should just pop out. A lot easier on the hands and the mold 😊

You could also put a small UV LED nearby attached to a light sensor to keep the glow going all night. Just be sure not to angle it directly into anyone's line of sight.

oky.. im only 2 mins into this video but it reminded me of something that i did when i was younger: i bought a white rose and mixed food coloring into their water. and then my goth mind finally made a real life black rose and it was the coolest thing ever. im pretty sure you could mix some fluorescence mix into it and make a rose glow in the dark. please someone beat me to it and send me the link because im lazy :D

One thing I'v seen online that can help with demanding would be to use like an air compressor, it shoots air in and basically ejects the item from the mold. Just stick the tip of the hose into an opening of the mold and pull the trigger. Might be kinda fun to see resin projectiles launch from a mold.

Fun video! Katelyn struggling with the mushroom mold made me giggle it was so relatable! For molds like that I will lift one edge and then spray some 99% isopropyl alcohol and it usually helps things come out easier 😊

Loved this video! The glow in the dark pebbles reminded me of yooperlite, it's a natural rock that glows under UV. I have a piece of it and it's stunning! I'd love to see how you'd recreate its effect and maybe some other gemstones like labradorite and opal :)

Rotisserie motors are a simple off-the-shelf solution for what Evan made to spin the planter. For example, that's what people use when making custom fishing poles, which are coated with a protective resin. You can also use a brush to spread the resin out rather than your hand; less messy and still ends up smooth. :)

Fun fact: you can use spray paint to paint with a brush! I've used it for small touch ups in enamel paint that had gotten scratched off (along with some of the aluminium under it getting removed). Way easier and nicer than having to completely strip and repaint the scratched part. I have not tried to hand paint an entire part before though.

The rotating resin pot holder! I coated a dance pole in resin after painting it with a galaxy pattern and made a similar thing, had it set up in the garage for a week while I did all the layers :D

This is really close to a project Ive wanted to do for a while. I really like night gardens with the coloured uplighting, so wanted to make an inside plant display with mini uplights. Havent quite thought through how to make it work yet, and whether it can be real plants given the unhelpful mix of water and electricity.

i have a micro garden. it's just some little baskets i filled with dirt and plants that i put on top of the microwave in front of one of the kitchen windows. is has cool mushrooms... well their meh. but when they die, they like... melt into this black slime! it's cool! and also when you pick them you can eat them but you have to cook and eat them right after you eat them, if not they'll just MEEEEELT! so they're cool i forgot what they were called though! they just grew in there, from the mold! i have mold. and the springtails eat the mold but the mycelium from the mold helps circulate nutrients, and the springtails stop the mold from taking over the plants! it's suuuuper cool!
