Very cool video Cole. The Remo Pinstripe was my favorite. Love the Dialtune concept. I wish they would make a 8 lug version with an aluminum shell- less weight but the versatility of the dial a tune mechanism. It would be the ultimate gigging snare.

That was awesome!!!! Thanks! I’m one of the crazies who loves the hydraulics. But a couple of those are really great sounding.

dude! i THOROUGHLY enjoyed this video. great from beginning to end. you got some great sounds out of all the heads and i also now want to both try a pinstripe on my snare as well as the modern vintage. those two definitely were gems on the snare. i've had them on my toms but definitely time to get em on a snare. cheers man

Love the Dialtune concept. And it actually sounds great. The Aquarium head was excellent. I’ve always used Remo but have been looking to change. However, after watching dozens of videos comparing drum heads came to the realization that Remo heads consistently sounded more “alive.” I mean, you can actually hear a resonant tone even with pitch. Evans completely kill that but I understand some musicians might prefer that dry sound. I wish you had tried a Fiberskyn or a Renaissance that might be comparable to the Aquarian you used. Superb video, though!

I am a diehard Tama guy, but gotta say I not only drool over the easy head changes, but instant tune changes depending on what song or genre you’re playing. I would love to see an entire kit built with this technology. BTW, still love me some Remo’s. In this case the Ambassador or Spot, I can’t see myself playing a clear snare head. To distracting! Lol. Great video! 👍🏻

5:22 I have an acrylic set and I have seen people make their snares of all kinds sound amazing with clear heads.. But I just CANNOT do it. For the sound I want, coated is the only way to go.

Wow, what kind of snare do you have with that type of ring? You are saving a lot of time in tuning just by turning the knob at the side.

Thanks for the comment! I do mention the snare and the system it uses first thing in the video, and also in the description. Here's also way more info than you probably need lol: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3aZoqShaZmKr7M

Modern Vintage is a 1ply coated head right? I use just the simple Ambassador coated, i think is very versatile and is a cheap decent option, does it has the same caracteristic like this "modern vintage" ? may not be the most durable of them but it works and it costs less.
@ColeParamore Жыл бұрын
It has a unique coating that’s meant to emulate calf heads.

hey man, excellent video, i absolutely love vids like these! being able to hear a whole bunch of heads without having to do all the work, 🙂 thank you! really dig the snare, i'll have to look into those if you don't mind my saying, it's not the glue cracking on those Remo's as most believe, cuz if this were true, the head would pull right out of the hoop. that crackling you hear is The Step, the head conforming to that particular bearing edge... kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ_IeaRvZqaqodU 0:12 - 0:50....- also kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqfVpqBvgqeFrtE 3:55 - 4:55, don't know where that myth came from, but hopefully folks learn the truth, good luck and thank you again!

Theres no tension rods to rattle around so you can get waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy lower than with any other type of snare. And theyre super heavy drums so it works even better!
