That's awful! I didn't get my nails done for a long time because they would always file my nails so thin, cut off good skin with the cuticle, and just all around not look how I wanted them to or even last long enough to justify the price. I may have a slight obsession now, but I enjoy doing my own nails so much! I would definitely recommend trying out polygel first. I started on acrylic powder (cheaper in the long run tbh) but recently I had the opportunity to buy some polygel for rather cheap. SO much easier to work with, and better yet - no smell!

I do my own and it's fun. The first few times is a learning experience but it's so great. I do sets that would be $75 to $100 for cheap. Get nail decor from wish or aliexpress. Its dirt cheap so you can get a bunch. Might take 2 months to get here but it's worth it. Same stuff youd buy from amazon or other companies anyways. You can get polygels and acyrlics dirt cheap too.

I’ve been on the fence for weeks on ordering a starter poly gel kit. I’ve been dipping all quarantine and feel I’m ready to graduate. At least, you make me feel like I’m ready. Lol. I’m all about glitter and Holo so, this was a no-brainer for me. That, and the flat dual forms. I have curved nails but not as curved as their curved forms.
