Testing a New Trika Spinning Rod

I spent the morning on Portage Lake testing out a new 7' medium fast Trika spinning rod. I give my initial impressions with the rod after trying a few lures. A full review will come later on after I spend some time with it.

Shimano Expride are very nice and very sensitive for the same price range

@@johncoopes1056 I have looked at those a number of times. I really like the new version over the old. I just wish the hook keeper wasn’t below the reel because that’s where I grab the rods to get them out of my rod locker. I might still try one as my next rod though. Everyone seems to like them

I’m still testing it out but it is a nice rod. I’ll have to see if it stands out as my favorite to use or if I prefer something else. So far it feels like you get what you pay for.

They're not worth $300. However, I'm a vet so I've talked them into giving me a veteran discount. It's a very nice rod. I have the 7'3" MH casting rod. The first fish I've caught on my Trika was a 15lb catfish. I thought the rod was going to snap but it hung in there for deal life.

I don't know for sure. Originally they said made in USA but then I think they changed it to built in USA because some parts were from China? I may be wrong, you'd have to research it yourself.
