okay, so im an artist with acess to only regular school supplies, and heres a list of my favs- HIGHLIGHTERS!!!!! theyre so pretty, especially if you get lucky and get a differently coloured one from pink blue green orange or yellow!! apsura pencils, specifically. theyre really soft and blend well ball pens! i think it gives drawings interesting... texture?? ig?? gold and silver pens! mine are from abrand called uniball (signo) :) theyre really opaque! all of these make my drawings a lot more fun and interesting! where im from, theyre all under five dollars. hope this helps!

I literally just bought an XPPen Artist 24 Pro last week, and it's honestly the best purchase I've ever made. A massive upgrade from my Cintiq Pro 13. I'm honestly surprised at how accurate it is, and how little parallax there is considering it's not a laminated or bonded display like Wacom's pro models. It's so nice to see that Wacom finally has some real competition!

even xp pen cant be immune to drops, all of the stylus I see still use the diamagnetic rod which is still vulnerable with force. You can hear it when you rotate the nib while still in the pen.

I work with alcohol markers a lot and for my paper I use watercolor paper. The markers still bleed through to the other side, but it doesn’t go onto the next page unless you’re doing some really heavy blending

My fav art supply is a simple mechanical pencil, I think, it's so good I never managed to find a good one, but even digitally I always look for mechanical pencil brush when doing lineart

i recommend 0.7 instead of 0.5 ones, they don't break as easily and the line width difference is barely noticeable (I have a pentel fiesta and it's been serving me well for the last 5 years of daily drawing :))

I love alcohol markers! They do amazing work with shades, and tones. This was really cool you typically do digital so this was nice! I love to draw in a traditional way for free time lol. I draw when I am done drawing

That’s actually a really great thing that tablet company does. Like… you invest the money, but if you’re one of the lucky few, you get it for free! That’s really cool. I use a variety of art materials. In terms of sketchbooks, my personal favorite is Canson. They come in different types of paper material. But I prefer their "drawing type," because the paper doesn't feel super thin. In terms of the drawing tools, it depends. I see myself using Artist's Loft a lot in the recent years. Along with some linier pens, sharpies, charcoal, watercolor, and even some washable markers. And this is all just for traditional. Digital is pretty simple. I use an iPad (an iPad Air 4th Gen to be exact). And Autodesk is my go-to app for drawing.

One thing about rendr is Don't Use liquid inks. I did and it ruined the paper. It is just to wet I think. But it is fantastic for copics and other markers and acrylic paint. Have not tried gouache or water color after my fw and Winston ink fiasco with this sketchbook.

@Olive no, really doesn’t feel like that. definitely have got allergies, but not like this. the weather here has been crappy though, in that horrible seasonal transition. most people i know sit in horrible positions, and have bad posture, so that’s another point. i think i may have caught a cold or some weak virus as nobody else is really feeling this way.

I absolutely love my xp pen tablet! Mine isn't one with a screen, to be more exact mine is the deco 01 v2 which plugs into a screen, but it was a recent gift from my mother and I just love using it for my animations

im not an artist, but i love drawing, i LOVE using just the regular 0.7 pencils from the dollar store (specifically the uh velocity ones) and i love the micron pens and the gelly roll pens i got those two at i think michaels or target and they are life! also these walmart sketchbooks i get are awesome too, i'm not someone who uses markers a lot in my books so it's perfect for me

Something that would be really cool is if you had one side of the book and you only drew on the front like the side of the paper you first see and then when you finish that part you could flip it and do the rest of the book so the other side of each paper and to do the other side of each paper you flipped the book upside down since you can use both sides of each paper and there would be no wrong way of looking at the book like you could look at it upside down and see each pictured perfectly and then you could flip it over and you can see all the other drawings perfectly, if you understand what I’m saying, I can barely read this myself and not get confused hehe

I had no idea you had an xp-pen tablet, I always thought Huion was one of the best tablets. I get the spring thing, i always feel like theres a bit of lag ect with my pen/tablet. that will definitly be my next tablet to buy.

I never tried overlaying marker colors on top .w. Maybe it’s because I use Ohuhu markers, but I think those could work maybe. They’re quite bright however…. I dunno .w.
