I bought the bosega board because I have a ps2 and wanted to have an arcade stick, hopefully it will work with pc without having to unplug the ps2 cable
@RetroBuiltGames3 жыл бұрын
you *may* have to unplug the PS2 cable portion for regular USB to work.

Where did you get the analog stick you used to test the Xbox 360 encoder board (~14:20 in the video). I've been looking for it and can't seem to find the right wording to find it.
@RetroBuiltGames2 жыл бұрын
that came from a defunct Quasicon Arcade stick. I dont think those parts have been in production for many years. the parts were not very good to be honest.

Use a cronuszen or cronusmax for Xbox 360 is best that way. U can’t depend on a usb encoder for mapping controls

All I want is an encoder that is recognised as "Xbox Controller" in windows so I don't have to remap keys on every game on my DIY Fight Stick, x360ce is always hit and miss, and some games like Dead or Alive 6 doesn't even work with x360ce

Something I've noticed with the cheap EasyGet brand and their "competitors" is that they do not quite function properly with a mame front end like MAMEUI64. For some reason the joystick is not recognized when you try to use it to scroll through all your games in the main menu. You can still use the button to select the game and once the game has been loaded the joystick input is recognized properly and you can play the game with no problem. It's mainly an issue as I am trying to set up my arcade machine to be controlled completely by joystick and button inputs. I don't want to require a keyboard and mouse to select the games. Funny thing is those keyboard encoders I bought a couple years ago work fine. It's just the recent models, bought from the same sellers and everything, that have this problem. Have you ever encountered anything like this before? Any recommendations?
@RetroBuiltGames3 жыл бұрын
My guess is the MAMEUI menu only responds to keyboard inputs, and not joystick inputs. There are 3rd party programs that can run in the background to map joystick inputs as keyboard inputs; but i dont think that will be a perfect solution.

@@RetroBuiltGames Thanks for the reply. I'm still playing around with various encoders to see if I can identify what changed in their design that is making them not get recognized. I did notice one thing recently though. The encoder that does get recognized properly, when you plug it into the computer there is the generic windows popup message asking if you want to select what happens whenever you plug in the device. The encoders that do not work properly do not get the popup. If you're interest (and if I can figure this out) I'll update you on my findings. I think it is the firmware or drivers issue but I haven't been able to find a way to update them.

I’m having issues with my Reyaan Easyget encoder. I think it’s the board because I switched the buttons to the other board and they work fine. The board that’s not working won’t register all but up direction for the joystick and no buttons. Is there any way I can diagnose and fix this issue and avoid in the future??

I have the PCB that works with the PS1 PS2 PS3 PC. It worked all fine with all of these but on the PS2 I hit the mode button to change it to left joystick instead of the d-pad and since then the PCB doesnt work on PS2 and PS1. It only works throught USB. I cant find anything on the internet to help me out. Is there a solution to reverse this ?
@RetroBuiltGames2 жыл бұрын
Not sure. sounds like the chip on your PCB that reproduces PS communication died.

Great video thanks! I purchased the Bosega encoder to my PS3. Everything works fine so far except I’m not able to turn on the console with the PS button. Is there way to get this function to work through the encoder?
@RetroBuiltGames3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about this one. I expect the PS3 looks for a device signature to enable this feature. Same reason why you have to plug in a USB cord to sync a new wireless PS3 controller. Are there any PS3 system settings that might prevent this on wired controllers?

On the PS2/PS3 encoder, are the PS2 buttons mapped the same as PS3? Does the joystick act as a dpad on PS1/PS2?
@RetroBuiltGames3 жыл бұрын
buttons are mapped 1:1, the d-pad is the same throughout. The analog sticks are not mapped
