We wanted to get this out sooner, but the rocket project was as huge undertaking in both effort and time. This is just one of many videos we will do on flamethrowers. We have some other models on hand we will put to the test. We just have to be careful as we do not have the greatest luck with burning things at the range.
@russellzauner Жыл бұрын
The first unit seemed tight in operation, when you released the trigger it was easily seen "chopping" the stream and it also appeared to ignite as it should (ignition was similar every shot and behaved consistently). I feel I would have no problem operating this in a safe and controllable/contained manner myself and I am a novice at flamethrowers - talk about saving a lot of work if you have a big yard, though. I would also bet it is great at surgically destroying in ground yellow jacket nests, which can randomly appear in woods or fields here. The second unit's fuel cutoff valve is junk or nonexistent. You can see the pressure spin down with unburnt fuel appearing to drop closely to you or even on your foot while the end of the stream is still on fire. Terrifying. Don't buy this at home, kids.

If you know anything about naval operations, can you talk about the similarities between the Ivan Khurs attack, and the USS Cole? I'm just curious how explosives are arranged for a boat attack, and why the boats pull up side-to-side. Someone said it was because you have to keep weight off the bow (or the boat will plow). And that the 2 vessels need to be close together for maximum effectiveness. I'm mostly curious if the explosives get arranged in some way, to create a concentration of energy. Maybe they are also in some container, or have a projectile in front of them, to try to penetrate the target with? Or if they just get piled in haphazardly, and maybe the water concentrates the blast towards the target. Cool channel, thanks for sharing the knowledge.

@0neDoomedSpaceMarine Жыл бұрын
The M202 FLASH was a really cool idea for a weapon, but absolutely terrifying in practice. The pyrophoric payload would gradually eat away at the rocket casing and then potentially start a fire, and this was when in storage, I've heard that they were widely disliked and distrusted by many of those who had to carry them around as there's more than a few examples of the rockets detonating inside of the tube or right outside the muzzle. I'd take the M2 Flamethrower any day, that thing was engineered for safety and reliability.
