my cousins both bought this foundation and they were confused cause it looked like the same one too but one of them chose a matte finish because they have oily skin and a fuller coverage cause she has more acne and the other did a luminous finish and medium coverage cause she has dry skin and not a lot of acne and i was there when they tried it out and the 2 foundations were TOTALLY different and the description of the 2 foundations were totally different too! so in conclusion i think the foundation has the same name but a different formula??? maybe not sure lol!

Hmm how strange, who knows! When I filled out the quiz again saying I had dry skin & was 50 plus etc, it came to the checkout with the exact same foundation, I don’t think they custom mix it because you don’t have to take the quiz you can just buy the foundation straight up, and there’s only one option! SOPH warning about filler: any doctor that will fill inside "smile lines" is a hack, and is doing something dangerous. there are prominent arteries in that area, which make injections more dangerous, so responsible doctors always do cheek filler instead. plumping the cheek pulls on smile lines, diminishing them. I would also recommend microneedling before filler, just to see if it works for you. it's pretty cheap compared to 6 syringes of filler, which is usually the base amount required to achieve a balanced look on both sides of the face. try to get microneedling done at a cosmetic dermatology office, because it's safer, cleaner and they do a better job. just a couple things to think about from someone that knows about these practices! you're beautiful without it, honestly.

For anyone interested: I took the quiz 2 times with different answers to compare the ingredients. They were exactly the same. So I would really guess they collect your answers to either build the brand, maybe develop different products, or cater the newsletter to you specifically. Let's see if I'll receive tips and tricks for dry skin even though mine is oily 🤣 oh and the ingredients were also FULL of dimethicone 🙆‍♀️

I bought this and have been using it for about 2 months. I cocktail it with marula oil and spf for the workday and use full-strength for evening events. The colour match is perfect, and that has been a challenge my entire makeup-wearing lifetime. I’m fair, have combo skin and like a satiny-slightly dewy finish - this foundation gives me that finish and t has a comfortable serum-like feel. I follow with a light dusting of loose powder in the t-zone and then a light finishing spray. It wears well for about 8 hours, then wears off evenly (no breaking up on me). I will definitely finish the bottle but will not re-purchase only because of the high price.

I love Il Makiage! The foundation and concealer test matched my skin perfectly. I think sometimes people might not always know enough about their skin tone, ie, warm, cool, neutral etc.

Your skin looks great! As for the separating that was happening, I’ve also had that happen when I wear a silicone primer + a water based foundation (or vice versa) I don’t know much about that foundation or what base you used, but that could be a possibility!!

Hi Soph! I got the IL Makiage foundation. I got it two weeks ago and for me it’s a lil too pale. I have oily skin and I also stated that when I took the test. When I got it, like I said, it was slightly too pale. It DEFINITELY DIDN’T stay all day. It got all patchy even though I set it and everything. I currently use this foundation...I like it because it is pretty good at covering up my acne scars. My first color match was a little too light for my skin, so I contacted their customer service and they sent me a new bottle for free! (I loved that since it is expensive!) I do find that it separates by the end of the day like it did for you. I blot my face with a tissue if I’m having an oily skin day & that seems to help! Soph! I have had my makeup break up around my mouth as well! I couldn't figure out what it was for the longest time. Had I eaten something greasy? Maybe it was the foundation not agreeing with my skin? Maybe it was my concealer? After changing my routine for a week I found out it was my setting spray! Okay so I received it a few days ago I said that I would put my review in here. I freaking love it!! No joke, it blends so well I have slight discoloring in my face as well as a few scars from acne and it blends everything so nicely. The key is definitely not blending with your hands It even says it on the box to not do it It comes in such a cute little box and gives you a card that tells you what to do and what not to do. I will not be returning it I love it

Tarte shape tape concealer separates on me like that foundation too! I work in a kitchen so I think it’s the heat and looks the worst around the mouth - only use it for short outings as it does have really good coverage 🤨🙂

They didn’t get my match right first time round, however as soon as I emailed them they asked for more info on my skin colour and sent me a free replacement (and I didn’t need to return the one that was the wrong shade) and the replacement was a perfect match. They also gave me a voucher for future purchases. I suffer from quite bad acne and so far this hasn’t irritated my skin which I am impressed with. Love the video!

I have this foundation, and it was soo close to my shade. I emailed them, told them it was wrong. They’ve sent me the whole order back in a different shade. The foundation is gorgeous!
