@TheCrewChief374 Жыл бұрын
Well it definitely doesn't sound like you guys were truly being serious about the entire weight issue. Because what actually works, and has worked for as long as people have been racing automobiles is building the car so you can put weight in the correct areas of the car. That the weight will help the balance of the car get into the corners, as well as allowing you to get through the corners quicker, and get maximum traction off the corners. Since all your shocks essentially do is transfer what weight is available from one corner of the car to another. Yet if there is not enough weight to transfer the car will look like a feather floating along the racing surface, not getting near the traction you are needing in order to get into the corners faster than the next guy, and get more drive off the corners than the next guy. That is why I still believe in putting a car on scales, and tediously checking measurements against what your baseline setup numbers from the chassis builder are. Or what you find is what works for baseline setup numbers, which I know it works because none of the basics has changed. Which I was born to a dirt track racer, I have worked around racecar my entire life, and learned and still always learning from literally from some of the best racers regardless if it is dirt, pavement, drag racing, road racing, off road over 36 plus years of doing working around dirt track racing. It is also helpful to not have a driver and crew who are beaten before they even make a lap because they over think what they need to do to the car.

Make the car lighter by using lighter weight engine oil, lighter weight tranny oil, and lighter weight gear oil. 😅😂. Diet methanol may reduce at least 30 lbs. It's worth a shot. 😂 Love the camera angles and clean operation you all have there. Hope to see you race. Do you have a schedule of where and when you will be racing?

Titanium! Shorten your bolts to just one or two threads beyond the nuts. Use half nuts instead of full. Even on steel heims use titanium jams. I ran aluminum lug nuts. Looks like your new car has more bars at the front of the cage at driver compartment loose one or two and spread them out. Look at chassis gussets see where they can be nibbled or drilled. Salina Engine did a motor for me. They milled 54 lbs out of a stock cast block. And there programs now that make it cheaper and easier. Lighter steering wheels available. Not at all familiar with your rules. I come out of sprint cars and drag racing. The helium is the best idea! Try this one. For the Chili Bowl we used titanium coil springs on one of our cars. You are fighting one ounce at a time.
