2:10 Sam revealing that Hank has just been a marionette puppeteered by Deboki this whole time

"Mouth sounds" would be a fun alternative way of deciding which panelist gets to go first/second for the Fact-Off!

aren't harvestmen/daddy long legs also different from spiders because they have only one body segment instead of two like spiders head and cephalothorax or I'm I missing something

I have an idea you could make the gauntlet better better and a bit less complicated if everybody starts with a score of 100 points and then you deduct points from the score every time they make a mistake that way they never get negative points and it’s a bit more intuitive to compare the scores. also you could still introduce the stealing of points your score would get less negative if you give the right answer while stealing

Also maybe it could be multiple choice instead of free-form answers?

This was a lot of fun to listen to, I liked all the games, especially the mouth sounds 😁 Also Deboki is always a great guest

Deboki's game is basically "Um, Actually: Real Science Edition", and I love it! You should require players to preface their answers with "Well, really," or not get any points 😁 And Ceri's is like Make Some Noise... has the SciShow office been bingeing College Humor game shows lately? 😂 As someone who's a paid member of College Humor mostly for their game shows, this was a huge compliment and I loved all the games; though, as others have said, Sam's could be streamlined a bit. Maybe passing a question gives the opponent an immediate chance to steal just like getting it wrong does, and you only revisit skipped questions if both players got them wrong? I think that's equally fun, but also shortens it a bit.
@ditzfough2 жыл бұрын
Also if you go down the list of 10 questions and each is worth its numerical value. Odds has an advantage. Make the list 6 questions long. Each player gets 3 questions. A 3 pointer, 2 pointer 1 pointr.

Also um actually is amazing
@IceMetalPunk2 жыл бұрын
@@ditzfough While odds add to a higher value than evens, there's no particular strategy for one player to always get odds or always get evens from what I can tell, so I'm not sure that makes a difference.

Hank and Sam Reich have been interacting a lot lately. If we are lucky, he may appear in one of the extra game changer episodes they have been hinting.

Loved all the games. Sam's went a bit long, could use some sort of streamlining. Ceri's game was DELIGHTFUL and has my full support!

Tweak to the rules for "The Gauntlet", instead of getting negative points you should instead give positive points to your opponent!

I was so ecstatic when this notification popped up, as •I rarely catch the premieres, •Deboki is here, and •New (old) Games!! …But then I saw the thumbnail..and living in MA (near the CT & RI borders) & knowing a couple of reasons that people do this..some of that happiness disappeared.

Because a whale being beached is a ridiculously sad situation to me, in and of itself; Never mind why people do what they do to it while it is/was in such a vulnerable state.

Gauntlet Feedback: 1. go from low to high. you want to be able to come back as fast as possible. 2. the risk of answering is super high because you can both get negative points and your opponent can get positive points with no risk. 3. 10 questions is alot, so the pace has to be kept up. Suggestion: 5 questions each ranging from 1 - 5 points. You can either answer or pass. On a pass your opponent can guess and if right get 1 point, if wrong 0 points. On an answer you get 1 - 4 points based on the round, start at the 1 pt question though and work up to 5 points. You go between contestants 1pt for Contestant A, then 1 pt for Contestant B, then 2pt for Contestant A, then 2 pt for Contestant B, then 3pt for Contestant A - and so on. In the final round of the gauntlet - contestants must answer the question. Helps keep it anyone's game. I think the game is more fun as rapid fire back and forth than the circling back.

When you talked about Daddy longlegs, did you mean Opiliones or Pholcidae? Because if you meant the former, Ceri would have been correct about their lack of venom. But if you meant the latter, isn't the statement of them being "distinct from true spiders" incorrect since they are true spiders?
@foozlebagel74888 ай бұрын
Opiliones are also very evolutionarily distinct from spiders; spiders share more recent common ancestry with horseshoe crabs than they do with that brand of Daddy Longlegs. I think Ceri kind of hit the nail on the head when she said it was more than just legs that separated them from spiders.

Sam: make the gauntlet 5-1. Steal attempts in round two result in a loss of the points for the stealer. All wrong answers give the game runner one point Deboki(sorry I'm going off memory I can't check your name without discarding my comment lol): only change would be wrong guesses reward the game runner Ceri: your game is already perfect lol great job

I like The Gauntlet, but think Tuna should give it a better musical sting.
@Nothing21502 жыл бұрын
Maybe instead of losing points equal to the value of the question say losing 3 points could encourage guessing the first time around and theoretically you are less likely to get the hard questions so will more often be penalized and if you miss an easy question you really shouldn't have gotten it wrong. Currently the risk reward on trying to answer a question is heavily weighted towards risk. There's a literal 0 value to trying to answer a question that you're not 100% certain on right now.
