I would have liked to see the XC6.0 HO compared rather than the 8.0 since the 6.0 has the Samsung 30T cells at 30A output, while the 8.0 has trades the higher output for more capacity with the 40T cells. Maybe for a future vid!

Good call, would love to really see some better tool testing with saws and grinders but harder show results. If you’ve done some testing with 12.0 vs 6.0 or 8.0 High Output is should be very similar performance. We are happy to see new PWR3, PWR4, PWR5 ratings on batteries, really hope those go on tools as well moving forward.

What Milwaukee need to do is make a battery that will withstand the power of the fuel sawzall. Usually what happens is that from so much vibration and abuse the battery will begin to break from the inside

@Ohio Power Tool. Thanks Jay and Nick for the info about the new Milwaukee M18 FORGE 6AH battery. It's interesting that Milwaukee decided to add battery cooling for their FORGE battery but didn't do it for their original M18 batteries like Makita always did for their LXT 18V batteries. So the original Milwaukee Supercharger has a fan but it only cools the charger while Makita's rapid chargers cools both the charger and the batteries. Wishing you , the entire OPT crew, and your families stay safe and well.

Thank you for always jumping in and sharing some useful feedback! The Forge batteries do have some internal cooling benefits from the fans, easier to see on the MX versions they had a demo at pipeline you could see pulling through the batteries. Obviously older M18 batteries are not build with that feature so 5.0s are not going to see big charging time gains. Older cell tech probably could not have taken full advantage like we are seeing today but even 10 minute boost would be nice. If not mistaken Makita had some sort of early patten on that technology for fans in chargers to cool batteries so not sure if that expired, or they found another way around or they just pay a small royalty for the privilege.

@@OhioPowerTool Thanks fir the feedback about patents. Ever since I learned and heard that Dewalt patented a work radio that also recharges batteries and Dewalt sued both Bosch and Milwaukee for putting recharger function in thier wirk radios back around 10 years ago, I'm sure the radio charger patent expired. I also wonder why some tool companies don't put certain functions in their tools and whether it'sa patent issue.. Didn't Jay mention that Milwaukee had their green light laser levels waiting in the wings until certain patents expired? Again. Thanks.

The comparison should have been against 12.0, because that was it's supposed to be replacing. Most people buy the 12.0 because they need max torque, tightening and loosing. Not run time.

If you look at the top of the charger where the batteries slide in you will see holes for the air to circulate to cool the batteries while they're charging.now I know the 6amp forge doesn't have holes in top of the battery to line up with the charger but I believe the 12 amp forge will have and that will circulate air through the battery

Is Milwaukee working on a new 3/4 inch impact wrench to replace the 2864?

Most assuredly they are! The 2864 came out a little while after the 1/2” 2767 so good guess is it’ll follow not too far behind that Gen 3 update.

Doesn’t the heat generated by the SuperCharger doing it’s thing kill the batteries over time?
@OhioPowerTool Жыл бұрын
Putting it on the super charger should push more air and drop battery temperature faster with fan. It won’t generate heat that would impact the batteries.

What if I have zero interest in a dual m18 charger? I would buy a 1 port m18 super charger if it still charged my m12s. As they are currently selling this I would have to now lug around an extra charger for the 12s. I tell you, the convenience of the mixed 12/18 rapid charger is super nice. Nice enough that I haven't bought a charger that did just one of the voltages.

1:47 same runtime based on the numbers. 6 ampere = 6 hours runtime.

If the tool/light/radio drew 1 amp. = 6 hours. Obviously most tools pull more than 1 amp so way less than 6 hour run time.

Hahaha we'll jump right on that clear calendars for a few months... unfortunately we don't get a great view of this in the real world for another year or so, but we are the warranty center for central Ohio so not only do we deal with all red items we sell but also a ton from the supply houses, hardware stores and big box customers. Good news is Milwaukee's batteries have been pretty solid for several years, the 9.0Ah was last one that had troubles but even that wasn't too terrible. We would bet the Forge batteries are going to be very solid.

Batteries have such a high markup. Not spending $200 on a single battery. If it is so good why doesn’t Milwaukee increase the battery warranty to 5 years? I guess in 6 months the “Max Forge” will come out and idiots will waste their money on that too. Buy older cheaper batteries. Get more bang for your buck
