Imagine how much work you can get done without the distraction of the internet getting in the way. There was definitely a time when the internet became more important than the computer. But it wasn’t until you could use it for countless hours without crashing that it became indispensable. On classic macs the browsers and plugins crashing the system were a constant daily pain.

Yeah it would be great :) I have heard that classic macs were a bit crash happy so that would be a pest, but I really like how simplistic they were. :) Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it. I'd be keen to try OfficeMac. I think I'd use that the most. Looking forward to similar videos in the future. Cheers

I was hoping to see you transfer a file from Macintosh Repository using the FTP client.

I plan to re-launch my channel this year, I'll definitely be doing this :-)

You can still be productive on these machines. We were 25 years ago, so why not today? Now, there are obviously options and features we'd lack, but if you don't require the more advanced stuff, these machines could still do what we'd need them to -- except for accessing modern websites.

Absolutely! Sometimes I use these old machines for writing or very basic creative work.

@@QuinsTechCorner On my Rev A iMac, I'm using Photoshop 5 and Illustrator 8 to create some of the original series Star Trek displays, which I intend to use AE (5.5?) to animate. Why? Because 😁

Hey man I just started getting into some of this vintage gear. When you burned your cds what kind of file did you burn onto them? Did you download the entire file from Macintosh Garden like what was your process Disk Utility etc.? Many thanks appreciate your time
@QuinsTechCorner Жыл бұрын
Hi! :-) It varies hugely depending on what bit of software, but often I find a DMG or ISO on macintoshrepository and burn that using finder, or disk utility. Basically, so long as you get the files on there it’s not super important unless you need it to be bootable. Feel free to join our retro tech discord for more guidance - link on my main channel page. :-)

I was born in 2004. So 100% of those photos are older than me 💀

480p gets rid of the crt flicker. Looks terrible, but at least no headache
@QuinsTechCorner3 жыл бұрын
Hmm that's interesting, I might experiment with shooting at a lower res but oh dear... 480p is L O W. Thanks for watching :)
@Nymunariya3 жыл бұрын
@@QuinsTechCorner I think it might just have to do with lower framerate, rather than resolution. The top two resolutions offered me @50fps, but maybe 480p just knocked it down to 30fps. If the monitor is 60hz, and you’re filing at 50fps, you’re gonna have a bad time. But 30 is half of 60 so it *should* sync up nicely (if you can’t match the monitor’s hz)

@@Nymunariya Hmmmm interesting! That's good to know, thanks. :). And yeah, I film at 50 at the moment, maybe I could try for 60 or 30. Cheers!
