I have the RF01 Pro, and you quick review is close to my own feelings about the racket. I use to play with the V13 pro staff and I think the sweet spot is much bigger on this racket. With the V13, any off center shots go nowhere. Whereas this racket, you can still get some power from it. Where it really shines is the volleys and slices. But there is plenty of forehand power and spin. The backhands which initially felt unstable has quickly gotten better as I get more use to the racket. Overall, a great racket for me.

Would you recommend the pro to non-competition players? In my best days I played a 327 (strung weight) racquet, highest 'regional competition', nothing speciam. So now I'm a bit stuck between the RF01 and the Pro.

I’ve watched hours and hours of Federer’s backhand to emulate his motion. I’m still in awe of his fluidity. I’ve never owned one of his racquets, but it would be an amazing experience to. Thank you for the opportunity!

I bought the Pro, but I asked the people at the shop to find me the lightest one they had. They actually found one that weighted 315 grams, and it is just perfect.

I personally preferred the 300 gram- added weight to 3 and 9 And extended it to 27 1/2 Love it I currently string it up with Solinco tour bite or Head lynx tour

Just demo'd it for a friend's shop to give my feedback as a life long Blade user. So currently hit the v7 blade, and always wished I could get a little more points head light (playing longer tourney weekends I get to start feeling the head weight on those second and third days). Tried the Pro Staff, but just never cliqued with it. So the RF 01 (not Pro) was going to be an interesting test. Overall, love the balance and feel of the racquet. Not nearly as forgiving for off-center hits, but when you hit the sweet spot it is responsive and more crisp than the Blade feels to me. But as much as I complain about the additional head weight feel, that really does help as a catalyst for my serve. So yeah, RF is a really compelling stick, but still not enough to wedge a Blade out of my had. lol.

Thanks for the great feedback… exactly how it felt for me! (I haven’t used a blade yet though!)

Hi Ashley , thanks for the review , I had wondered how the new range would play without the classics pws in place . I play with an RF autograph 97 at this time and before that the 90 , 85 original and so on . I am in my 50’s , which racket would you suggest trying please ?
@TheTennisMentor3 ай бұрын
I think that the pro would be an easier transition for you, the 300 may feel too light considering you’re using the autograph 97.

One of the most important things that determine your play style other than the racket is the string tension. What's the string tension would you recommend for this racket to optimize its true potential?

Please could you help do you have any idea what strings where used on these new RF rackets you tested? I know strings can make a big difference and unfortunately I can't afford the champions choice option I know Federer uses but is there really good alternatives that still works great very curious what Wilson strung these test rackets with

Firstly - absolutely love the video and the channel as well! I was thinking about buying a new pro staff and this video has made me question if the RF 01 is a better option? I’m a big guy who has a classic playing style as you described in the video, what do you think?
@TheTennisMentor3 ай бұрын
Both rackets are suitable for your classic playing style, I feel that I got more ‘pop’ from the RF01 and it felt quicker through the air but maybe slightly more stability with the Pro Staff. I’ve seen that a few have suggested a little weight at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 can help add more stability.

when youre a pro like Rger, Raffa, Novak, they can use any kikd of racket, they just need fine tuning to to improve their game or a particular ground stroke. For the average players or advanced players, you need to be make sure you tril a few rackets out before you go and spend that sort of money and can't hit the ball.

@ColdBrew_13 ай бұрын
Great showcase of this racquet! Been wanting to get one 🙌🏼 Using aero 98 but hits ball like roger (almost eastern grip and movement of FH), do you think its a better choice? Btw looking good on those hits! Just an observation, I noticed your footwork is nice always moving and on toes, but a bit off with the timing (sometimes no split step) on when opponents get contact with the ball, and sometimes you are landing the opposite way. Im sure Im not better at you in tennis and this is not Ill intent comment. Just wanna help a bit! Just subbed! 🙌🏼
@TheTennisMentor3 ай бұрын
The aero is aimed at players that hit with more spin, however I do know some flatter hitters that get on well with theirs. Do you find that you lack something from it? If so, what? The RF01 is built for players like you that play with a classic style but want a bit of modern ‘pop’! I found it easy to swing and manoeuvre which may be a benefit to you compared to the aero.
@ColdBrew_13 ай бұрын
@@TheTennisMentor Thanks for the reply! The aero 98 is good but hollow feeling. Im looking for a better feeling. I like the feel of the Prostaff v14 and Blade v9(but this is too muted). So Im looking for playability of aero 98 with the feel of less muted blade v9. 😂 In short, one that feels more solid and plush. Looks like Rf 01 is a must try for me! Thanks again! 🙌🏼

“He don’t won’t to focus on his weaker hand( back hand) and focus on his forhand” ! What a cover up for the bad balance for shbh player! Even Agassi said without his backhand, he can’t possibly had so many forhand winners. A bad design is a bad design. Forhand is the weapon, but one need have a complete game.

if we play like roger, we love and use shbh......if we mainly use slice on back hand side.....we would more close to P. Rafter's fan than Roger because Rafter is the true master of backhand slice. though he have solid shbh too but his backhand slice do more damage or set up for his winners. if these racquets are designed to play with Roger's style....wont it be shbh friendly and much more HL? talk about balance of this racquet unless you are paid to promote these junks. we are Roger's fan but we are not brain dead yet.
