Hurricane prep for bunnies would be good. I’m in south Florida and been wondering what I don’t know in terms of preparing my bunny for the storm. It won’t be too bad here on the east coast but beyond a tranquil blend forage and lots of places to hide, food, water etc not sure if i am missing something.

First of all, I have social and general anxiety, so I understand completely the struggle it takes to rein in all that chaotic energy, especially when the animals you love and orbit around might be sick, because they are what keeps us grounded. So extremely thankful that Sterling the most handsome rabbit ever is healthy and happy. The anxiety and the worry is never for nothing. Take it from an anti-social woman in her mid thirties. Secondly, you rock the short hair very well and no one cares that you have anything going on with your face because you are quite beautiful regardless. Everyone has their own thing going on, so the only judgement here is that you’re photogenic (or video-genic, in this sense) and that makes me mildly envious. Lastly, thank you for being one of the many people in this world who take proper animal care to new levels. You, along with many other influencers, are helping to open the mindsets of many people who are simply ignorant about animal care and rights. Personally, I tell people that animals never choose us, so we OWE IT to our voiceless fur families to give them the very best. Great job 👍🏼

I LOVE your comments!! Very well said and I completely agree. You and I have much in common re: our anxiety around humans. The world is ugly and has worsened so much during the pandemic. Give me a home in a forest surrounded by animals and I wouldn’t care if I NEVER saw another human being again!

For video suggestions: plants you can keep in the house that are bunny safe (and plants to avoid that are not bunny safe) Explaining companionships between bunnies and bunnies + other pets or humans Comparing water bowls, bottles, and other watering options Quick daily, weekly, or monthly health checks you can do and what to look for What to put in your home medical/emergency kit and how to syringe feed and/or medicate Could always do a video interviewing a rescue or rabbit savvy vet ❤️

So grateful Sterling was just a little dehydrated. As a senior myself, I know it important to drink water. But not always what I want😁. Don’t stress about making videos. Just relax and adjust after the move. Evan a very short video of the buns eating or napping and you popping in to say how you are is all your caring viewers need. We just think of you and hope you are well. If you need to take a break from bunny content, take a short video of palm trees or where you shop for their veggies…we really will not care. We just like to hear your voice and hear you are coping. I bet your parents miss you being close. God bless you and keep you safe!

You should look into modified citrus pectin. I am using for my rabbits with cancer, heart issues, and arthritis. It works for kidney disease too. Only thing is you have to make sure your rabbit responds well. When I first started using it I used baby gas drops and iv fluids. My rabbits are now okay using regularly without gas drops and fluids.

After my bunny was put under anesthesia for dental work, he changed a lot. He will not eat any veggies or hay. But before he ate huge leaves of lettuce twice a day and munched on hay all day. He only eats pellets, Activia yogurt, (the vet recommended it), a little banana, critical care and saltines for a treat and raspberries when I had them. I initially took him in because he sneezed a lot and drooled. Over $900 later and 3 different antibiotics, he stopped sneezing but he is so picky now. He is going to be 7. I was going to try your small treat hay for about $5 but shipping was $11 so guess I’ll look at Pet smart some day. Liked your hair longer, mine is long. Love all the information you give us. Hope you like Florida. Yeah, our winter is coming. Blessings from the Northwoods of Florida.

What a very sad and worrisome story!! If I were you, I would find another exotic vet-one that has excellent credentials-and get your rabbit in for a thorough exam ASAP. Tell the new vet your story. There is strong evidence from your story that the dental surgery was badly done to the point where your bun is now experiencing a lot of pain! That is why he’s not eating his hay and veggies-because it hurts to chew. This is very serious. He needs to be seen by a different, highly qualified vet who can hopefully help him get back to his normal self. He also needs to be put on pain medication (ie, Metacam) *immediately* to help him feel better. Good luck!

Thank you SO MUCH for this extremely informative and important video! Literally no one else posts stuff like this about senior rabbits and I think it’s stuff we most need to see and hear. THANK YOU! Also, I would totally watch videos of your bunnies sleeping, by the way! Seriously. And finally… A few ideas for videos: 1. Can you recommend any products that you feel are bunny safe for general cleaning like floors, furniture, etc. For the rabbit room, we mostly used diluted vinegar because I have heard that is the safest. But, we do sometimes let the bunnies explore in the bedroom and the hallway. I’m much too nervous to let them explore in the kitchen because I’m worried that the “all natural” floor cleaner could get on there a little paws. I’m also worried that they might find something they shouldn’t eat on the floor and eat it. So, are there any products that you recommend for general cleaning besides water and vinegar? 2. Are there any other products that you feel safe using near or around your rabbits? Like, anything. I know some bunny KZbinrs feel comfortable burning herb bundles, candles, wearing make-up even though their bunnies lick their faces etc. What about human shampoo? Lotion? Soap? In your experience, what are the brands that you feel are safest? 3. What other sort of sensory reactions do your rabbits have to sounds or smells? We had a fire in the fireplace recently, which is several rooms and a hallway away from the main bunny room, but I swear I felt like they were grumpy the next day. 4. And just for fun, do your rabbits have any music that they particularly enjoy? My rabbits seem to really enjoy Lana Del Rey. And of course they like soft classical music. Thank you! I adore you and your two bunnies! ❤❤❤ So happy to see a new post by you. I, too, have clinical, chronic anxiety and depression…never feel alone or apologetic about that. I feel like everyone here loves you, appreciates you, and gets it.

Haley, someone mentioned doing a video about where you shop for veggies. What a GREAT idea!! It would be awesome if you would take us on a trip to the grocery store to shop for your rabbits!! Many YT rabbit people like Lennon the Bunny do shopping trip videos and they are a lot of fun and very interesting. Yours would be spectacular and so educational. You said in another video that you feed 5 different leafy greens each week and you rotate weekly. Please do a video at the store about what 5 you typically pick for any given week, and then how it differs the next week, etc. I recently had to take my rabbit off of all pellets because she began developing soft stools no matter what pellet brand or formula I fed her. I always transitioned very slowly-like over a 3 wk period-but soft stools would always start forming. When I took her off pellets for 10 days to see what would happen, her stool always immediately went back to normal. So no more pellets for her. But without pellets, I’m very worried that she won’t get all the nutrients she needs. She will only eat one kind of hay from one hay company-Rabbit Hole Hay soft timothy. And she’s not a chewer of wood sticks, etc. (Her teeth have been checked twice and are good the vet says.) So it will be a challenge to get her the vitamin and minerals she needs. I am, therefore, taking her from 3-4 greens per week to five and could really use your help to see what veggies you usually choose. PLEASE do the video!! Thank you!!
@101rabbits2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Lots of up to date vets are recommended pellet free diets now that they know 90% of a rabbits nutrients come from hay! Also high quality hay like rabbit hole is amazing! As far as chews and sticks, some of the normal name brand chews from petco/petsmart are not tasty to rabbits and often get left abandoned. Have you ever tried fresher willow like the willow rings and willow balls we sell on our shop? Those are the only willow toys my rabbits like. I also highly recommend the fruit flavored balsa chews and grape vine chews! I haven't found a rabbit who didn't like those. Another good thing to try and add is organic dried herbs! We sell lots of them on our shop as well (not to make this sound like a sales pitch by any means, just trying to help in any way!) I will think of making a veggie video! I personally use instacart though so I never shop for my veggies in person haha!

Some rabbits can have digestive issues with pellets, others can be fine with them their whole life. Haley is only giving them hay and veggies which is enough if you make sure to vary the veggies. Also I think I remember her saying it can take a while for rabbits to start eating veggies, the time their guts adjust, so keep pellets on hand if you want to make the change and start introducing them slowly
@abbyf14642 жыл бұрын
Talk to a vet about it too! Some bunnies need pellets to hold on weight, others don’t and it’s more of a treat.
