Josh my son is almost 12, has size 9 feet, and he just finished trying on 2 pair adidas, last years messi's the 200$ ones? on sale for 100, and the X 17.2. He also tried Puma Vigor. The Adidas both were too narrow, the shoe upper could not be laced over the top of his foot at all. Puma were similar but not as bad. The ones you are reviewing here fit him perfectly, allowing laceup as design intended. You should do a post on different foot shapes, lasts and uppers, and outline the best for wide or high volume feet. My sons feet are not super wide, but they have more volume than I did at that age, a lot of it is to do with him preparing to grow, he'll be over 6 ft easily. Anyway, when someone calls feet 'wide' I always thought they meant at the widest point across on the forefoot, now I realize wide can mean more than that. Live and learn. The weird thing is, the Nike are not advertised as for wide feet, but they certainly have an amazing fit for my son's feet. Keep up with the channel. Man you can kick that ball. Crikey.

Not be a bit redundant but id love a more detailed review on the new vapor academy, mainly because of de mg plate, that on itself is making me consider it over the tiempo ligera 4 or the phelon 3 (which I would like better for their more soft touch on the ball due too the better padding). I'd wish it was and available option in al tiers as the concept is quit e convienient as a budget solution to having a boot for al surfaces, I myself play with my friends every other weekend in AG or Turf, but having a boot that can do that and FG is a good saving alternative to having 2 other pair of specialized boots.

I love these, I think they are even better than the elites because putting them on is fast and simple. Flyknit are a pain to put on especially with the collar. The only thing to be aware of is that I need half a size larger. I have old vapor victory 5 and that is true to size, but this one needs half a size larger due to the heel area is shorter.

Great video, love the first take down play test idea. I currently wear the veloce III (burrito tongue) because of how narrow my feet are, the vapor 11's were too wide. I haven't found any retailers near me that stock the elite or pro vapor 12's yet but it sounds like they might be too wide now. Any suggestions for cleats

I went to the soccer store to try and purchase a pair of these or the elite version , honestly I found these to be a bit too wide and i have a wide foot i felt that the elite was a more snug fit but still with enough room where my foot wasn't crammed up.

Played in college, still play a couple of times per week. I loved the Vapor X so much I bought 2 pairs. The second pair finally busted after 3 years of wearing them almost weekly. After watching this review I decided to buy a pair of these Vapor 12 pros. I've worn an 11.5 for the last 15 years consistently in nike cleats and the 11.5s I ordered feel almost a full size too small. These also fit my foot wider than past vapors and have a horrible fold on the instep when I move. Just wanted to post my personal experience. I will say these feel great from a materials standpoint and do not at all seem like a takedown. That being said, I don't believe it's accurate to say they fit like past top line vapors.

so here's the scoop on these. i had to punch holes in the upper. over 50 holes per shoe. the slice the tongue so it gives width. then i removed the trim from the medial part pf the ankle collar. gorgeous boot but way OVER ENGINEERED! THE ankle takes a pounding with the over done stitch and padding. 3 hrs worth of work and they are still no match for the 6..8 Diadora Nove9. i was a pro recruit in europe and here. this hack works. i even spoke with Nike today about it. legit. perforated upper for better performance.

Usually not when I'm testing something. I like to get the experience what the boot is like as they would normally come. If I'm not testing something new though, I'll use the Currex insoles.

Nothing feels like leather. They're soft with a ver particular padded feel. They move really nicely with your feet as well. It's something that everyone should try at least once.

They're two very different shoes when it comes to fit and feel. The Legacy 3/Legend 7 Pro is an awesome boot, and for sure one of your best options for a leather boot at that price, but you do have other options that are at least close in terms of overall quality. The Nike Premier 2 is an awesome boot and is less expensive than the Legacy as an example. The Vapor 12 Pro however, for the style of boot that it is, there is nothing that retails for anywhere near $120 that even comes close in regards to quality. Not only do these rival the Elite model Mercurials, these are as good as just about any top end "Speed" boots!

The only reasoning that I can think of would be that CR7 wears the Superfly, so they'll only produce it as a Superfly. They did the same with Neymar's last signature colorway of the Vapor 11. They'll made them as Vapors and did not make a s Superfly.

Hey josh, I’m trying to decide between the vapor 12 pro, vapor 12 elites and hypervenom phantom 3 low. I LOVE playing soccer with my bare feet and socks so I’m looking for a boot that has a barefoot feel, but with some padding on it so my feet don’t kill after shooting for 1-2 hours straight. I’m also looking for a boot that has a tight and snug fit. What would you recommend out of those? I didn’t know what the best option would be for me in wanting those features. Thanks!
