The Synthetic Mercurial That You Have Been Ignoring. Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 Pro FG Review 2021

Everyone went crazy when the mercurial dropped its synthetic roots and went knit, but we are a fickle bunch and a lot of people don't seem to happy about the looks of the new mercurial range, both superfly 8 and vapor 14 now that it has returned to knit.
Everyone screams out for Teijin synthetic but Teijin has had many many forms so what Teijin do we actually want! Do we even want or need Teijin Synthetic at all? Considering the synthetic that Nike managed to produce independent of Teijin and get into this supposed takedown model, Teijin is just a name we hang onto.
This synthetic vapor gets probably the least attention of any high quality synthetic mercurial ever, and yet it would float so many boats with regards to to synthetic vapor feel, and it's a takedown and its veeeeeeery cheap.
We are going to review the Nike Mercurial Vapor 12 PRO in FG here. Underrated, Under used, and maybe something you should be looking out for.

Don’t know why, I just loved the 12s, probably my favorite mercurial ever. I guess the exposed flyknit with the plastic coating just gave it a really raw texture that felt amazing to dribble with

While it was quite good, I just found that the pro 12 ran a bit too tight for my left foot, kept bruising my big toe when I would shoot. Scored my fave goal wearing them but also left me a black toe.

Yeah it's an odd one, the sizing is slightly too small which is why I advise going up half a size, totally agree that they can end up being a bit too tight.

About a year ago I bought the vapor 12 pro grey with yellow for 15 dollars brand new. Thinking one of my boys would wear them, well both their feet grew too big to even wear them once lol. Ill give them away to a neighborhood kid that needs them.

I chose these boots over 250 dollar vapor 14s. Personally like the vapor 12 pro material than the vapor 14 flyknit.

Vapor 14 is actually a synthetic material more similar to these that what you got on the flyknit vapor 13, although I totally agree, the material on these is fantastic.

Appreciate that sizing advice! Just picked up a used pair of Vapor 11s that aren't in as good a shape as I was expecting so I'm thinking about the 12 Pros now as an alternative

Does the Superfly version of these feel somewhat similar to the new Vapor 14? Both have the flyknit tongue & synthetic uppers 🤔

Not really, similar ideas of course but they don't feel simialr, the uppers are quite different.

Do u think they'll take the direction they've gone in the merc taking it back its roots to an extent, do u think they'll take this direction to the tiempo because I really don't like what they did with the 8’s, prefer the 7’s tbh

I would imagine that they will strip the Tiempo back a bit, they will probably remove the quadfit. But this is Nike and they do love their tech.

Depends on what you're looking for, the 13 is technically a better boot but you might prefer the 12 for a synthetic boot.
