Hi Rene. Love this format - short and to the point enabling me to determine if the strategy warrants me investing more time in looking at it. It's not necessary for you to go back over stuff you have taught in previous videos.

Very educative reasoning and approach of simultaneous EA coding. Of great value as basis for experimentation. I found stuff to adopt. Many thanks.

Thank you very much Rene, you really help me for lot of codes which you provide free in youtube. Can you make video for some more advance strategy - something like Monte Carlo simulation or something interesting (maybe you know better than me) to compare with the simple code as this one (which I like more)?

Hello Mr. René, thank you very much for your great video. I have a question: when we backtest our expert advisors using Dukascopy data, is it possible to run them on any broker afterward? For example, I have some expert advisors optimized with Dukascopy data, but when I backtest the same settings using the data from the native MT5 platform or a specific broker, the results come out completely different. Some of my expert advisors work on lower timeframes, like the 5-minute timeframe. Now, if we run the expert advisor in the live market on a server other than Dukascopy, will it cause any problems, or is there a chance the results might change?

Obviously I am not Rene but I can write some thoughts. Dukascopy is a reliable source for backtesting data. Brokers are not that well organized to keep quality data so most likely if you use Dukascopy it "should" work better in the real world. And I say "should" because I do not know if you take in consideration different parameters like slippage during news. Since each broker uses different liquidity providers they do not have the same prices at the same time. Since you are able to program you could make a small program and compare prices from different brokers during news to see the differences. Now to continue with my rumbling scalping and backtesting usually do not go well together. No mater who your data provider is backtesting on 1,2,3,5 minutes is going to be much much different between backtest and the real world. If you trade the 30m, 1h, 4h chances are that your backtest will be much more accurate because 3-4-5 pips will not make a difference in the final outcome. So the conclusion is. Avoid backtesting a scalping strategy or better said do not over optimize and then expect the same results in the real world. Now if your strategy has a >70% win rate with an profit/loss ratio of at least 1,5/1 then you can afford some losses.

The "problem" with Forex and CFDs is that it is NOT a regulated market. Every broker can make his own prices. This is why the results can also vary. Still I did not find any better data source so far and that is why I also use the Dukascopy data. It also depends a lot on your strategy. If you have a high frequency trading approach that uses a very tight stop loss/trailing stop then the backtest has almost no value. But if you do the opposite and use a more conservative trading approach the backtests can be very similar to the actual live trading results. I am only talking about the past of course and the future is always uncertain.

The best strategy is the line chart. Buy break of structure going up, sell break of structure going down.
@vassiliscapsis582822 күн бұрын
the problem is "break structure going up" is easy to see but not very easy to program it. And you need experience to see it. Experienced trades do not indicators. After all they always lag.
@ReneBalke22 күн бұрын
That sounds great if it works for you! I never tried it. How long do you trade like this and are you consistently profitable?

What indicators do you use? Did it improve your performance a lot and how much less do you make in trending markets because of them?

@@ReneBalke hey bro I am not an algo trader I am just suggesting things for you I think reaching the objective of knowing that we are encountering a 1 ,2,3 hours of ranging market isnt that hard As little knowledge i know , two types of ranging market can be identified , one in low volatility settings ( obviously known why is that ) Second is during high volatility hours ( a whale is trying to place his orders into a specific zone just to shoot out next in one direction ) Finding indicators to do that isnt hard Actually if you study the science behind the indicator , you might just make a complex one capable of considering different factors So sorrry i am not here to provide a specific knowledge that is accurate It requires a serious research , but the fruits of such research will be amazing , as a 10% increase in total winrate of all monthly trades is so significant Maybe a weird thing to say but maybe its is actually the time where you make AI agents to make researches , tests and ( especially that you have a programming background) Anyways thank you , love your content. Be a king at algo trading .
