Great video, Thanks - I have just taken delivery of the DJI Osmo 6 to work alongside my iPhone 13 pro max. Looking to better the sound of the phones built in mics and the DJI wireless system looks cool. The only thing I would like to have seen is when you were in the garden to put the Gimbal down and walk away just to demo a kind of range test. You mentioned that each transmitter has its own backup recording. So do they require a micro SD card? - Cheers, Peter.
@ThatMarkGilroy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. Thanks for the feedback! The cool thing about the onoard recording is that it doesn’t require an SD card, there is 8GB built in storage, you just plug it into your computer via the USB-C port to access the files. When fully charged, each transmitter can record for up to 5.5 hours. Note: Audio will be saved as one file for every 30 minutes during standalone recording. When internal storage space runs out, new audio will replace the earliest ones, and new files will also be saved every 30 minutes.

@@Stefan-od3us Yes- that’s what I’ve taken to doing now (watch on wrist with camera app running to check the framing). You should be fine without needing to sync sound in post if you’re using the DJI Mic and lightning connector- syncing in post would only be needed if for some reason the connection to the receiver broke and you’d also recorded locally to the transmitter (always good to have this as a backup). Hi Mark, thanks for recording this video! I recently purchased the DJI Mic to use it in conjunction with a DJI OSMO 6. One issue that I ran into is the gimbal's horizontal position drops to vertical due to the additional weight on one side. Moving the phone clamp slightly off centre to counter balance introduces another issue with blocking the rotation. I am curios if you have seen this and/or if you have any solution for this?
@ThatMarkGilroy Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary. Another way round this is to put the receiver in something else like the cold shoe and then run a TRS-lightning cable (or USB C if you’re on the new iPhone) to the phone to feed the sound in. Another solution which is a much bigger job is to set the mic to record locally and then sync the sound up in post. Not ideal but would avoid the unbalancing issue.

Hi - thanks! You shouldn't need to press record on the mic before recording audio when connected to a phone. If this isn't working for you I'd first check you're not using a case on your phone (the lightning connector that fits to the DJI Mic receiver isn't quite long enough to get through most iPhone cases I've tried). That might do it. Even when you know it's connected I'd recommend taking a backup recording on the wireless mic just in case - I've had a couple of occasions when I thought it was all fine and then found no audio when I checked the video.

Hi and sorry to hear about your issues with your gimbal freezing. I’ve used it this way a couple of times. Sadly, wireless mics aren’t really wireless. You have to plug a receiver into your phone. Gimbals don’t like that. Mark managed well to get this one functioning in landscape. But he didn’t show you portrait mode because it blocks the motors. I’d be happy with a mic that has very short range, but connects to my iPhone directly through Bluetooth. Like AirPods do.
