I’ve heard that a type r shifter with some acuity bits and pieces makes shifting comparable to this the actual adjustment part is sacrificed though. But for less than $200 makes more sense to me.

Does this get rid of the crunch sound when shifting from 1st to 2nd ? I currently have the stage two kit and it seems to alleviate the problem but not fully
@Pawinning6 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I can relate to what your experiencing. This full shifter further improves mechanical feedback to the driver and makes the shifts feel very direct in comparison to the stage two kit. But in regards to the actual crunch sound, that crunch is most likely the result of the movement of internal parts in the transmission that can be felt through the cables as you shift, if that makes sense? The 10th gen cables are known to transmit noise from the transmission itself more so than 9th gens

I'm in OC California and would love this addition to my CTR; however I don't have the means to do the install myself. Do you know whether Acuity have any authorized dealers/installers here?
@Pawinning5 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Lemme get back to you on that. I'm not sure if there is an authorized installers local to you. But I'm currently working on an install video for this shifter install on the acuity channel, should give you a better idea on if you can perform the install yourself. But if I find an installer for you I'll respond back! I also wouldn't hesitate to engage with the online social media groups on the 10th gen civic. Very supportive and I bet you'll find someone that could help you with an install!

Hey man! So just heard back from Russ that Sparktec Motorsports is the only one right now in Cali that is a vendor for our products. I think they are pretty far north of LA. But I'd send them an inquiry to see if they would be willing to help with an install 👍

Does the shifter fit the 2019 civic si? Does the help the lag on the shifter?
@Pawinning5 жыл бұрын
Yessir it's designed to fit all manual 10th gen civics 👍. What do u mean by lag on the shifter? I wouldn't say there's much lag, but I think that the stock shifter had a lot of slop and vague shifts. This full shifter does the best job at eliminating all of that. It provides incredibly precise shifts that feel notchier and inspire confidence into each shift 😎. It takes some time to find your optimal adjustments, but after a week or two of driving to get used to the new shifter, I feel like it's made my daily driving a hell of a lot more fun. Shifts are now crispy, quick, and consistent 👍

Shifter is crap...30 bolts and stiff like hell
@Pawinning5 жыл бұрын
I would like to hear more detail on your critiques for this shifter. It does have a stiffer centering spring by design, and overall takes about a month to break in with daily driving so I understand why initially it feels stiffer than what most people are used to with the stock shifter. I also found that putting the shortest settings on the shifter will make it way too stiff for some drivers and it can make gate selection less precise. We encourage customers to play with the settings during the break in period because it is a significant shifting experience over the stock shifter and everyone has their own optimal adjustments 👌. If you adjust everything to the widest gate, and longest throw settings (position 1 on both), and even raise the height to the highest setting, that should make the shifting feel the least stiff. And I'm not sure where you're getting the 30 bolts from with the install process. In my 2017 civic SI that I made the shifter install video for, I found that there are 5 Phillips screws to remove in the center console, 2 bolts on the console support bracket, and 4 bolts on the stock shifter assembly that bolts it down to the car. The rest of the parts dealt with have plastic clips, and wiring connectors that hold everything in place. Some civic variations with wireless charging modules have an extra step with a few more screws and electronics to deal with, but shouldnt be too much more to handle during the console disassembly. The acuity short shifter itself only has 4 additional bolts to make custom adjustments, and also one more bolt on the side to affix the gear cable support mechanism 👍.

Pawinning good design doesn’t need breaking in
@charliesmith79422 жыл бұрын
@@Pawinning yes if you put everything on short setting it makes it harder and notchy. But if you raise the rod or knob higher you will gain leverage and make it easier and smoother to manage
