To GRAYL or Not to GRAYL…. That is the question. 🤔

I open the cap completely, it works much easier

Great tip. The last few times we had tried it and it definitely works faster that’s way.

We used these extensively at Isle Royale, Gregory Bald in TN and AuSable river. No illness afterwards just sore hands and the occasionally squirting out the top if you don't press straight down. A little time consuming to fill bladders and pots for cooking.

Nice! Have you had to replace the filter yet?
@AlexHensley-zu5ik2 ай бұрын
@@ExploreTrekAdventure No, we flushed the filter each return and set out to dry. No issues so far. Heading to the Spanish River next month with them.

The first press on a new/dry filter takes a little longer than successive presses.

Good point. We have noticed that with other filters as well.

I think it's great but it is a little overpriced. Should cost $60 in my opinion.

Can you pour boiling water into the geopress outer cup as you wait for it to cool down (after boiling in a titanium kettle, for example) or will the heat damage the plastic? (Im not suggesting the filter is used with boiling water, only if the plastic can withstand the heat of boiling water)? Thanks!

That would be a good question for Grayl, but there could be multiple issues. The plastic might melt, but the big issue is the cup is the dirty water container. It would need boiling water for 1 minute to kill any bacteria.
