Before you mention being paranoid about cutting that cord, I was already thinking it lol. I’ll pass on this piece of equipment. But very informative video

My dad used to use the traditional corded B&D hedge trimmer. Once, he cut his extension cord, so trimmed it back, inserted it through a 3ft length of automotive fuel line and wired a new female connector on. He never cut the cord again! I used my 20V battery OPE this morning, 3 or 4 tools and I just took a bag of changed batteries outside with me. It was no big deal to swap batteries.

I agree with you Brad. I can only see using the tether system for weedeating and edging on a bigger property.

I agree with you for your purpose you could just bring the extra battery and leave it in your general work area if your truck was a distance away . Thats where I think the backpack would be handy if you were working on a very large property where it would be a long distance to go to your truck

love the review. the backpack looks like it's for all the hedge and or string trimming and leaf blowing or more. sounds only worth if you need it for more than 2 tools

It seems like many people using powered hedge trimmers inadvertently cut the in the shape a V instead of an A. This results in less light getting to the bottom branches. I think it’s because powered hedge trimmers are heavy and it requires more effort to hold them steady particularly the lower to the ground you get. I worked hard educating the people who trim my hedges and they have gotten much better at it.

I'm John in eastern Canada . Do you have any videos of a zero turn mower deck shaking and roaring like a rock crusher ? I was using a Kubota yesterday, when the blades were activated, the entire deck was close to shaking apart. My supervisor said it's fine but , the users know something is wrong. The blades are fine and no bends, new belt and pulleys.

Hedgers don’t draw enough power to warrant a back pack and you’re swinging them around a lot so the tether gets in the way. Back packs are great with trimmers or blowers though.

ill stick with 2 stroke gas powered hedge trimmers. shrubs already kill my back so no need for a backpack to add on

Nope! After you use that the entire day you are more tired than a coal miner! I’m sorry…but where does the battery provide an advantage over a gas power trimmer?

Batteries belong in drills/saws and nothing else

Ok, hear me out (leans on arm of chair)...... Helium inject the backpack housing so it's lighter. Thank me later.

I don't really understand how two tiny 2.5ah batteries can weigh so much. I have a 9ah battery for my Ryobis and it's 2.6lbs.

because it is a 60V battery that has 3 times more battery cells than a 20V battery of the same capacity. You can have a 20V battery with 3Ah capacity or a 60V battery with 1Ah capacity. You need the same amount of cells, so the weight and size are practically the same.
