The cool 360 is just a wearable version of a medical gel freeze pack. My Mother had one, which is now mine, it's large and flat....and they do indeed stay soft from the freezer, stiff but still flexible. The idea is to deaden nerves to relieve pain or to draw out fever. They ARE uncomfortable from the freezer....I suggest a light wrap on it, you get the cold without the pain OR the sticky feel.

@tarstarkusz5 ай бұрын
If that gell in the neck band is not freezing, it will have little cooling effect. The reason ice is such an effective cooling material is the phase change. It takes a lot of heat to melt ice. The switch from a solid to a liquid takes much, much more energy in the form of heat than it does to warm the same amount of liquid by 1 degree. It is why ice doesn't just immediately melt when you put an ice cube into 60 or 70 degree water.

The problem with the Cool 360 is its small size. Mass directly correlates to how many BTUs it's able to absorb and how quickly it will become heat-saturated. A better solution would be a backpack-style harness where you can sling a pair of frozen 2-liter bottles of water. Yeah, it would be heavy, but that mass is what would keep you cool for an hour or better. 🤓

Sorry. I'm from a different part of the world and I'm trying to understand .. Would that food be for a mid morning meal or a proper lunch or do they get a hot meal. Also what time do the kids go home because I really don't think that's enough for a full school day
@Kinkajou10154 ай бұрын
@@NyanyiC School usually starts around 7:30 to 9:00 depending on a few factors. Lunch will usually be somewhere between 11 and 12:30, and the end of the school day anywhere from 2:30 to 4:00. None of it would be hot food, hot food would need something insulated or access to a microwave which schools generally are not going to provide. A kid could get a lunch in their school cafeteria, but parent may be packing special food for specific dietary restrictions. A Capri sun pouch, a sandwich with some deli meat, cheese, and condiments is a decent lunch and the snacks like mixed nuts or fruit cup or pudding could be dessert or a snack during a morning recess around 10:00.

The neck thing makes me think of the craft markets where people make neck kerchiefs filled with water beads/orbeez (I'm pretty sure that's what they are?) - they work really well to keep your neck cool, and have sort of the same shape design. You dip them in water long enough for the beads inside the kerchief to swell up, then you keep it on your neck all day - it's basically like wearing a little wet towel if the towel didn't get dry. When you leave it for long enough, the beads dry up and feel more like little pellets, but it's infinitely reusable :)

Remember, it's 115°F in Vegas and surrounding areas right now, ice cubes practically vaporize in the Mojave this time of year lol. It sucks down here in the Laughlin-Bullhead area since we're right on the river, the water itself stays quite cool at 53°F, but the surface water creates a vapor layer that humidifies *_everything_*

It's about cooling the veins and nerves going to the brain, and tricking the brain to think it's cooler. So as long as it's cooler than your internal temperature, it'll keep working. I use a neck tie with pellets that seell in water. It can be a little messy, but looks nicer than an ice pack around your neck

I had to vacuum twice a week and in summer mow.....in Cali. They bought me this bandana that has the same stuff they put in diapers. So it would swell when put in water and help keep you cool without the freezer. I would have to take it off and wave it in the air to help cool it for the next 30 minutes but man it really helped. Also an old roofer cheat code. If you are in a dry heat and are going to be in the sun all day in the middle of summer. Wear a sweater, it sounds crazy but once you coak it, it's like you are wearing a swamp cooler. Just be sure there's some sort of breeze before hand.
