The coke and milk drink has been popular in Kolkata for atleast more than a decade and half! It's called doodh cola and sells in park street areas! I've never tried it but many of my batchmates in school used to go to drink it and they loved it!

Cristina Tosi toasts the cereal slightly before infusing milk with it for her cereal milk ice cream at milk bar, maybe you can try that for this? Also they added very less of the milk and more coffee, and majority of the milk was made into a cold foam with frothing the milk a pump of some syrup, maybe vanilla(which also adds sweetness to the drink), it was a shot of espresso a splash of the milk and topping of cold foam, so I feel your recreation was not exactly comparable, vv tempted to try galaxy-ade though!
