Drill a hole in the bottom of the vodka bottle, or put it in an empty milk bottle that will be a lot easier to put a hole in so that the vodka bottle isn't creating a vacuum and the vodka will pour out a lot better
@rickiebobbyify Жыл бұрын
Some watermelon contents (juice &/or flesh) need to come out in order for it to be replaced with the same volume of vodka.
@Ingu.z Жыл бұрын
I think you just need a longer neck bottle and a wetter melon so that osmotic action can take place. Should be perfect for doing in a bucket of water if you can get it to float upside down securely. Then you'll have water flavored vodka, and vodka flavored water 👍
@peterheinzo515 Жыл бұрын
even if you enfuse it for longer, the melon right around the bottle will turn into sludge while the stuff further out will still have nothing. it is just a good viral video but a trashy recipe. if you want vodka infused watermelon, cut it up into cubes and infuse it in a vacuum bag.

for the watermelon vodka, i’d suggest using a bigger bottle and also a fresher watermelon. if you just skin a part of the watermelon and then insert the bottle into it it should normally work

The bottle hacks have already been debunked by how to cook that. Just look up the video it's very interesting
@DVNRAPR Жыл бұрын
and also the watermelon needs to be cut up a bit from the center, so like the watermelon juice tap thing but add vodka
@rickiebobbyify Жыл бұрын
I've done this. And the only way to replace/empty the vodka bottle into the watermelon is for the watermelon to release its own juice. But since a watermelon is a closed system, it's difficult to do. I mean the watermelon is already saturated with liquid so the vodka wouldn't be absorbed anyway. When I did it and ultimately didn't work, I just cut the watermelon in cubes and emptied the vodka in the bowl the cubed pieces were in. That process worked better and was delicious.
@peterruf1462 Жыл бұрын
@@rickiebobbyifythe idea is to infuse the watermelon through osmosis. The vodka and watermelon should exchange flavours.
@rickiebobbyify Жыл бұрын
@@peterruf1462 Should. But both (watermelon and vodka bottle) are in equilibrium. There’s no inequality of pressure/gradients/concentration /solvents for osmosis to occur overnight (as the recipe suggests). In this case the watermelon cannot handle any more volume as it is already saturated with its own liquid.

Hi there! Alcoholic Wisconsinite, here! On hack one, cut a hole in the end of the watermelon (use a smaller one like in the video, not a huge honker), big enough for your egg beater to fit into. Put a knife in the hole, chop the insides up a bunch without stabbing through the rind, and use the egg beater to blend the insides before putting the bottle neck in. Drink chilled.
